Did a fuel pressure test I got 32psi steady on the gauge at start up and idle and idling up. What is normal?

And what is that round thing on top in my pic? All good I researched it and found that it is the fuel regulator. I am going to remove that in the morning and see if there is something there I can clean out or not?? Now I am not sure which part I should replace??

Anybody with any thoughts looking for a next direction to go need help!!

If you look back on my thread you will see more detailed but I have a bogging no acceleration issue boat runs and start fine idles good but no power. I had some jelly like stuff in the fuel I cleaned out fuel tank and put new 94octane fuel in and new fuel filter tested boat yesterday and can only Get it to do 2200rpm WO but if I just throttle it will rev to 5000rpm easy. I could only get it to get on plane once at 4000rpm max and couldn’t get it on plan again. I am home check fuel Pump pressure Getttinf 32psi on in-line gauge from pump to TBI. So not sure now what to do I think from what I have found 32psi is normal there is pics in my thread

I was going to take the fuel regulator off now but not sure do I need to even do that if I have 32psi on gauge? I am thinking doing cap and rotor and plugs Cause they haven’t been done for like 6yrs cap and rotor and plugs never done 8yrs I have owned boat

Yup, complete tune up and check compression when the plugs are out. If them is original ignition wires , replace them. Does the engine sound smooth? What was fuel pressure at WOT?

it runs smooth at idle then not smooth when put it down under load. The fuel pressure I just tested in the drive way with ear muffs on and it was same 32psi idle and with throttle

Driveway testing proves nothing. Read post #50 again and check back after you complete that list.

Ok so I did a continuity test on my ecm got code 12 first then a code 23.

This is what I found MAT sensor?

So changed cap and rotor and noticed that it will run good can tell a difference just in the ear muffs and then when it starts to run like shit I noticed that there is a arcing from the coil wire to the coil + wire.

I had a kinda same issue with my 98 290 sundancer. Twin 5.0 efi. Was a weak fuel pump. Ran great at dock but would not get over 3200 rpm to plane off. Changed out fuel pump. ( cool fuel 2 ) Disconect fuel line from filter to pump and blow out. You will see sludge. Both Run like champs now. Boat sat for 7 years with empty tank. Best advise i also do is replace both fuel filters every month. When i do i fill the new filter with with 75% seafoam and 25% gas. Fun for 5 minutes at 2000 rpm. That will clean out fuel injectors.

I have 32psi on my in-line gauge so not sure how it can be the pump but I do know that this arcing from the ignition coil has something to do with it cause boat sure sounds and runs good when not arcing and then when it does it sounds like it wants to choke itself out so going to deal with that tomorrow now get a new coil and coil wire. See what that does

Muz, you look for advice and then don't take it.

I am very great full for the advice but I went through all the testing and I am getting 32psi on the fuel pump pressure and 28-32psi is normal operation from mercury specs and a new pump is not cheap so I just can’t throw parts at the boat when after all the testing I have done to clearly see 32psi tells me the pump is good. Just cause one persons experience doesn’t mean that is my problem specially if I have gone through the testing to eliminate stuff so I am taking advice this is what I have been doing this whole time if you look back on my thread I have been following what people are saying so not sure how you can say I am not taking advice??

I never told you to buy a pump. You aren't going to find out anything about your fuel system until you load it in actual working conditions. Reread my post to you #50.& 52. There is nothing wrong with your coil. If you want to change ignition wires 1 at a time it's going to be a long struggle.
