adding windshield snaps on a 2005 Sea Ray 200 Sundeck

I have a travel cover for my 2005 Sea Ray 200 Sundeck. The cover is a 2 piece design-bow & cockpit cover fasten together with velcro at the bottom of the windshield. Unfortunately, the velcro has worn out and is no longer holding the cockpit cover on. Once wind gets under the cover, it pulls it right off the windshield. I am planning on replacing the cover in the fall. My windshield has a snap channel at the top of the windshield and a rubber cover at the bottom of the windshield.

Can I attach screws at the bottom of the windshield somehow?? I like the idea of the cover going over the windshiled for traveling.
