Ok, guys, I have a friend who is agonizing over what the best way to get sound out to the bow and sun pad that is on his 460DA. I remember seeing a post where someone had added pod mounted speakers to a 460/480DA arch. Does anyone have any photos they could share as examples? I still think he would be better off with detachable speakers near the bow facing aft but he seems to think they will use them all the time and doesn't want to fool with removing and replacing them when needed.

Thanks,

Dan

Also, if someone could recommend a good A/V or marine audio installer in the Treasure Island, FL area, I would be happy to steer the project their way. So far he got a quote for close to $2200 which I think is highway robbery for two speakers and a small amp.

Thanks!

Dan

I purchased 2 pairs of Polk Atrium 45 speakers & a Kicker amp for the same purpose on my 40. May not be quite as sleek as a pod mount - but much more economical. I will be hanging these from the arch, 2 point forward - 2 point back/down into the cockpit. I will post pictures in a few weeks when complete.

BTW - found a great deal on the speakers @ www.wholesaleav.com , $99/pair - all other sources were $150-200.

These are Fusion speaker pods. Warning !! they are high end speakers, and are not cheap, but with 4 speakers per pod, they play both fore and aft. These guys do install anywhere.
And they are THE best at what they do.

Might be high...

I'm having my MB Quart relocated to the arch..(hole cuts needed) a Rockford Fosgate amp, and a Rockford Fosgate 10" sub(BIG hole cut)...cost is 1,300.

Are the housing and the speakers together or separate? What brand, what do they run?

Don't go with Bose unless he doesn't like bass. I love my Klipsch 525 outdoor loudspeakers - $400. White or black. Great bass and great highs.
