We have the original battery charger in place from the factory on a 2003 260DA, via a 1/2 switch we have 2 Interstate cranking batteries that are in great shape (just replaced last year).

We want to add a Deep cycle battery to the mix and I have several questions. I'de like to avoid replacing the exisitng charger if possible.

1. Can we wire the 2 existing starting batteries together in series or parrallel (so that both are assigned 1 position on the battery switch)? This would leave 1 Deep cycle battery on 1 position, and 2 cranking batteries on the second position.

2. when running the boat (or on shore power charging the batteries) do I run the battery switch on just one of the 2 positions or under "both" so that both sides will be charging at all times.

Thanks
Robb
