I am looking to add Bluetooth capibility to the Stock stereo in my 2011 200SD.

I have an Aux input plug so it should not be hard, but there are lots of different products out there.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has already done this, and what product they good luck with?

These are some of the products that I am looking at:

[h=1]Fusion MS-BT100 Bluetooth Dongle[/h]
[h=1]Belkin F8Z492TTP[/h]
[h=1]Milennia Bluetooth Dongle[/h]
[h=1]ROCKFORD FOSGATE RFBTAUX[/h]

:huh:

I've been using this and its been great and cheap.

I have been using the miccus mini-jack receiver also. It has worked out so well that I just purchased the transmitter to use w/ cabin TV.

+1 on both the transmitter with the tv and receiver with the stereo. I was a skeptic on bluetooth after having some hands free devices, but have been converted to a miccus believer! I can transmit bluetooth from my iphone/ipad anywhere in the cockpit/cabin and still be within reach of the miccus reciever which is inside the cabinet with the stereo/breakers in the midberth area.

SeaRenity - First question is - Millers Island - is that near Hart-Miller, right? if so i would like to see the set up sometime.
Second question - If I understand this correctly the mini jack get's you more radio/streaming/downloads? And the Trnsmitter for the TV get's you TV stations while out on the hook besides being in the slip?
Thanks - Joe

Wish I had a picture of the final install Bill (ZZ13) and I did. So the miccus transmitter connects into anything with a 3.5mm headphone port (in this case the TV) and broadcasts that audio over a bluetooth signal to any bluetooth receiver it is paired up with. The bluetooth receiver has a female headphone connection port as well which you connect to your audio equipment with a 3.5mm male-to-male pigtail. The bluetooth receiver converts the audio it's receving via the bluetooth signal from the BT transmitting device (your iphone, or in this case the miccus bluetooth transmitter plugged into the TV headphone jack) back into an audio signal for the input in your stereo head unit.

In my install with the original Clarion system, there is an Aux input on the back of the Clarion receiver. Bill found an adapter at his marina's parts store which has RCA Red and white male ends and a female headphone jack end that is surrounded by rubber fins. We drilled an appropriately sized hole in the wood breaker panel and then pressed the finned end of the adapter into the wood. Connect the RCA male ends of the adapter to the RCA female ports on your head unit and you're good to go. You can either do a direct physical wire from your headphone jack on your iphone/tv to the female port you just installed... or replace the physical wire with a bluetooth wireless connection using the bluetooth receiver and (miccus transmitter) or other bluetooth enabled device).

Let me see if I can find the post Bill wrote or the one I did on the install on my boat.

Here's an example of the adapter used to port the miccus receiver to the stereo aux port. The one I used didnt have the usb.

James, I can't find any of my pics of this anymore, either. I probably put a pic in the 300DA forum since I tended to swarm that thread with posts.

Sorry I did not get back sooner -- been out of town. To answer your questions, yes- Millers Island is near Hart Miller Island. I'm docked at Bills Yacht basin which is located right at the cut between Hawks cove ( where HM island is) and the bay. The marina is in with Rowboat willies dock bar next to where dock of the bay restaurant used to be. You are certainly welcome to stop by and check out how I wired the Bluetooth in. The miccus unit does not get you any additional stations or any TV channels. It just gives you the ability to send and receive a signal. So, now with transmitter I can listen to my TV audio thru the boats stereo radio. I hope this answers your questions

Rich,
Thanks for the info and where you are located. Hopefully, I can link (no pun there) with you this summer. Hope to start polishing my boat tomorrow with a splash date of next weekend. That is after I call the Attorney General for MD about my Zyrex bottom paint. If they don't have anything then I'll sand and paint again.
Thanks again and hope to see you on the bay.

Jim,
Thanks for the info. My 400EC is a 1996 and I think it may be the same Clarion Radio not sure on that but I am going to try and pull it out so I can check the back for the plug. I have been toying with upgrading to something with Blue Tooth and XM radio. So all of this is really great info and I thank you all. I hope to look at what Rich (SeaRenity) did. That should help me out if I don't figure it out before hand. And to think I work for the Communications Electronics Command. LOL
Thanks again,
Joe
