Hello, I am delivering a 390 Sea Ray from San Fran to LA.
Gasoline powered... light load. I have read anywhere from $150 and hour which equates to about 40 Gallons, to .5 - .6 MPG. No mention of speed/RPM to reference. Can anyone confirm what we can expect to burn at say 15kts, 12Kts?

Thanks

Steve

I have no experiance with 390, but .5-.6MPG sounds too low. The question is, why do you choose 12-15kts? I'm not sure about 15kts, but it's possible that at 12kts she'll drop off plane and you'll loose your efficiency. If you're off plane, than go slower to save on fuel. My guess would be around 7-8mph will keep you around 1.3MPG or so. Anything above that you'd need to get her on plane.

Just my .02c.

If it's a DA it should burn 28-30 gph at 20-21 kts. This is at a 3400 -3600 RPM cruise.
Good luck,

Don

I just ran my DA across the harbor to the club for New Years. No waves, no water, pretty clean bottom and 1/4 fuel. 3500 rpm 19 kts 32 gph.
From boattest.com : 1500 rpm 7.1 kts 5.7 gph 2500 rpm 9.7 kts 18 gph 4500 rpm 28.6 kts 55.4 gph
