access under dash

Just bought my first Sea Ray (1995 300) need help gaining access behind/under the dash panel to remove and install new electronics, route new wires, etc. How do you get up under the dash panel? Is there access from the cabin (i.e. remove a ceiling panel?) or do you just work from under the helm? Seems really tight for a 220 pound guy. Thank you, Karl
