I'm having an issue with (I believe) the heading sensor in my 1998 330 Sundancer. I think there may either be a loose cabling connection between it and the authohelm and chartplotter, or maybe the heading sensor itself is just faulty and needs replacing. I'd like to get access to it, but, well, I just cannot figure out how to gain access to the electronics and cabling behind the dash in the helm? I would have thought there would be some way to access it from the ceiling of the entryway to the aft cabin, or even some way to remove the panelling around the dash itself up in the helm, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to gain access...

Anyone have this (or a comparable, I guess pre-2000) model and can advise me? Thanks in advance!

If you remove the screws that hold the instrument panels in place, the panels can be tipped out and down to allow access. Granted, there's not a lot of room to work, but there's enough to be able to see in there, get an arm in and do some work.
