Guys - Happy post-Labor Day!

Got a question on battery charger replacement: We've got a 2001 400DB, with the original Pro Mariner "Protec 4" charger system. It's apparently gone into retirement. When we plug into shore power and run the stereo and kick on a few DC - shipboard lights, the port battery voltage starts to slowly decline. My tech diagnosed it as a failed bank. Pro Mariner recommended a replacement over reapir, since parts cost for an out-of-production unit will be higher than a new replacement unit. No argument here.

In looking for a replacement, the newer, more powerful Pro Nautic 1250P seems to be the best choice. Any comments? Suggestions? Experience?

Cheers!

Very happy with my 1240 P. Swap out was easy, and although I did have a problem with mine, Pro Mariner was great to work with and super quick on the repair. Got mine at a very nice price point from BOE who sponsors this site. The best thing about the charger is it is quiet in comparison to my old one. Thats thanks to the multi speed fan I think.
