Abused Sea Ray 450EB at the Haulover Inlet (GRAPHIC VIDEO)

Gotta agree. Definitely a bad call with people on the swim platform. Everyone is seated on my boat except for the line handler during docking.

I agree as well. My first boat was a 26 ft deck boat. On one of my first docking attempts, my wife decided she would jump up on the bow of the boat so she could jump onto the dock with a line. Great thought, but I hadn't asked her to do it, we were still pulling into the slip and we were going way too fast. I had already realized I was coming in too fast, and at the wrong angle, so I was looking backward when she jumped up and moments later, I put the boat in full reverse.

Luckily there was another person seated in the bow of the boat that was close enough to grab her before she went over, but it was very close. From that point on, everyone stayed seated during docking until directed otherwise.

Most of the people filming there have youtube channels. The name of the game is more subscribers, 1M+ views per video, = add revenue. The boats are all leaving Biscayne Bay heading out to the Atlantic. Most are enjoyable to watch, but some are pure stupidity. Number one example below.

So where are these people going in these pleasure boats when they head out into these rough seas. Are they just joy riding or is there a protected destination in that area they head to?

They come from the Haulover sand bar. They know their are you tubers filming. It’s a hold my beer moment. :)

Oh, so many may also be returning to their home ports after a day of hanging at the sand bar? Makes sense. I've seen pics/videos of the Haulover Sand Bar and I guess it's quite a destination.

Often the seas are not rough, people try to exit on an outgoing tide and the water really stacks up in those conditions - The ICW north to ft lauderdale (approx 10 miles) is a slow ride, so anyone heading north will often try to go outside - heading south, if your destination is miami beach marina the outside is way faster too, likewise if you will be heading to the keys via hawks channel. Also, the gulf stream is very close at this point and many are going fishing......or even to Bimini - Lots to do by boat in South Florida

Seemed like a great idea for passengers to sit on the bow as well, unbelievable.

The stern locker is not missing. it's by design, it's the new open floor concept boaters are going for :)

Before we moved our boating over to the west coast of FL, we kept a boat in a marina 2 miles north of Haulover inlet.

I kept the 280 2 miles north of Haulover. "Marina" would be a stretch though. It was more of a dirt lot, a few docks, a forklift and a construction office trailer - I doubt we were in the same place!

It's now the site of the condos at 400 Sunny Isle.

We were at Williams Island. Probably as nice of a marina as I have ever kept a boat in. Had to turn off the ICW and go to the west, wind back in between the Condo's to the basin.
