We are thinking about buying this boat. Does anyone know how many people it is meant to seat? Does anyone have any comments about the boat? We are hoping to tow it with an Odyssey. Thanks

You may want to download the Specification sheet from Sea Ray first. Here is the link http://www.searay.com/Archives_Manuals/Sea_Ray_Archives/1995/25 feet and below/180BRCB_SS.pdf

The information available from Sea Ray does not give person capacity but based on the seating configuration, it looks like seven would be the max. The overall weight of the boat is shown in the specs too. Add several hundred pounds to that for fuel and gear and and the weight of the trailer to determine if your Honda will tow it or not.

Hello, I used to own a 1995 sea ray 175. About the same boat. I would highly recommend that the boat have at least a 6 cylinder engine, think resale. My boat had a 4 cylinder and it took a lot to get me(185lbs) up on one ski with only 3 people in the boat. Do not get me wrong I loved that boat but it was too small and not enough power. When I went to trade/sell it the major trading point was the engine package.
Good luck in finding what makes you happy.
As far as the amount of people I had up to 7 but most were 50 to 90 pounds kids. I towed with a Suburban so cannot comment on the Honda. I could not even tell tha boat was back there.

Sorry I never responded sooner, but for future searching reference....

I own a 1995 Searay 175. It is rated to hold 8 persons; I assume the 180 is the same. I've had 8 people on my boat, often. Usually four adults and four kids, all under 60 pounds each. I also have the 3.0 liter and it does fine. I'm a big proponent of more power, but I do have to say that boat will get up and go and cruise just fine with that engine.

It is a smaller boat though and we are looking to upgrade during this winters off-season.
