I called my AC guy the other day for a service and flush out. Well the other day is a bit kind, it's been three weeks plus. So figured I'ld do it myself. Rather than disconnect flex hoses at the separator ; I'm going to install a manifold that allows me to connect to the AC water suppley hose to a garden house. Easy breezy once it's installed. Had a similar set up on my other Sundancer.

Next is build an acid mixer/delivery system. I used 3" pcv and the appropriate fittings which allows for a vessel to hold 3/4 gal of acid. Dock water or boat water psi goes in one side; mixes with the acid; is sent to the manifold and cleans out the ac units.

Makes cleaning out the ac plumbing a simple 30 minute job.

Now if I can get this phot thing to work it will all be ever so clear.

Think I got the picture thing done. Least what needs needs to be illustrated in order to put togeather this thing togeather from the assorted pieces and parts.

Now I just put muratic acid in the top of the mixer, seal it up and us a garden hose to connect to the manifold. On my manifold I put two on/off valves so as to clean ac units on opposite sides of the boat. (The previous service guy had difficulty getting solution to the coils on the port system. It has a smaller diameter deliver hose and it's running a tad up hill. When he flushed the system there was little consideration regarding water's tendency to travel the path of least resistance. With the manifold having on/off valves I can isolate the sectors) Hook up dock side water hose or use the boat utility water, let the water pressure force the solution through the system till a little starts coming out of the over flow. Make sure the thru hull valve is closed other wise you might well be just be sending the solution out of the bottom of the boat. Keep in mind the acid is being diluted during this process. Kind of have to guess on how much flow to use, not full wide open, least not till the acid has time to work. Let the solution sit for a few minutes and flush with the rest of the acid solution. Works very well.

There are three compressors and four evaporates on this boat. Four/five years back my guy charged $125 for labor and materials to flush the two AC units on my 400DA. Don't know what his charge would be for this one. This set up makes flushing the ac systems super easy.
