A bright future for club sea ray

Thanks for the back up Midway. I know Kelly as well from a couple of other boating sites. Him and seabuddy have been friends for many years.

Okay, now back to your regularly scheduled thread......

Gary's departure is a Pyrrhic victory for a very small minority here at CSR.

I contribute to CSR, and contributed to SRO before it, to both gain and share valid technical information on the care and feeding of the 420DA with C series Cummins.

Astute CSR observers may note that much of the quality content, and those who post it, are disappearing from this site.

I remain principally interested in technical excellence regarding the maintenance of my boat. I'll PM a few folks who share this interest and I'll set up a by-invitation only site to focus solely on operation and maintenance of our gas and diesel Sea Rays.

Best regards

Skip, can you tell me one person who has disappeared from the site? Four Suns is already back. Don't tell me you are getting caught up in the drama too?

Jim I can't name anyone that has left...but, I do notice a difference here. As the site grows it seems to have lost it's small town feel. I remember when "we" used to laugh at Gary's jokes, revel at Frank W's wisdom, listen to Hampton's tales, wonder what Turtle was going to do, wait for Nehalennia pictures, read Frank H's wit, watch Dave S's polls, and pick on Chuck for wanting to take his "bowrider" to the Bahamas, and many others. I'm just saying it's just different, specially now having to be PC because we don't want to hurt anyones feelings. Heck I remember getting an attitude adjustment from the "guys".
Anyways, just wanted to dump in my opinion.

Ah geez....now Rondds is gonna get all watery eyes on us again.......

He said the same thing about a year ago...he was preparing then for CSR to go bow up in the murky cesspool called the internet...or something like that. :smt101

He didn't call you a clown...he just said "..wonder what Turtle was going to do...". Don't be so sensitive. You'll rust YOUR manifolds and elbows. :smt043

why do I have to be the clown?

With a name like TurtleTone what did you expect.:smt043:lol:
Heck I still want to take my Sundeck to Bimini. Sure hope the Second Home/Vacation Real Estate market comes back soon.:smt089

PS: Well Said Mike:thumbsup:

I can understand what has brought this latest issue about, and I certainly do not condone it.

I just do not understand all of the 'PC" crap of the world and this damnable term minority any more.

I do not want to say the older I get the more racist I have become, I think it is more an angst against the media and ignorance in today's society. I now see or equate the term minority as being synonymous to entitlement

Why do I bring this up as Skip is correct here,

I just find it to be pathetic that those who actually do learn something here at CSR will probably have to look elsewhere in the near future. I have sent PM's to a few of the same folks I am guessing Skip is alluring to, but I do not know for sure.

I know I have learned a good bit from members here at CSR and I am still learning, but...

So like I stated previously;

This is just one example of pablum or a non-issue

When in truth this comment below from MCDS probably has much to do with the issue

Another MSNBC story to try to start racial tensions. Perhaps one of the reasons why these people don't have bank accounts is because they are recieving WELFARE and working on the side, or their "SIGNIFICANT OTHER" is getting a paycheck. If the government found out about this, then the welfare and food stamps would be cut off. This is a stratagy of the parasite class of all races.
The only way for people to stop being racist is to stop segregating people by color in attempts by the press to rouse tensions.
Whoever coined the term, "Ignorance is bliss," sure knew what they were talking about.

Puke. This is not my site so ban me do what you will. I am sick of every where I go, some minority group or ignorant liberal dictating all I can do.:smt013

Hey guys, don't let a few bad apples spoil it for the rest. I personally don't have a "Big Diesel" boat yet, but I sure learn a lot for the future. Plus quiet often I pick up tidbits about area I have and want to cruise in.

Wow. This thread is doing loopty loops. :smt101

Would everyone just slow down, take a deep breath, and think about this for a second.

Not everyone can be an "expert". Some people can not keep their mouth shut when a topic comes up that they really shouldn't be giving advice about. Most people will not be 100% serious all the time, we like to have a little fun and enjoyment when we are on our down time.

Here is the problem that we have on CSR. Some people repeatedly post replies to topics that they have no business giving advice on. Some of the people on here will be bothered by that and start criticizing the person. Things start to go down hill from there and it starts to get personal (and as we've seen, possibly criminal).

Suggestion. Add a technical forum where anyone can post a question or problem, but only a select group of qualified CSR members can respond. This way, people like me could post a question and only get responses from people who know what the hell they are talking about. If they don't think the thread belongs there, give them the ability to move them to other forums. This one forum would then become the CSR "library". Nothing but the good stuff.

Second suggestion. Stop bashing the people that post bad info. When I read a thread and see 4 answers from the "talkers" and 1 answer from one of the Franks, Gary, Dave S, Todd, Bill, etc., I know which one I will take as "the" answer. I can filter the rest on my own. When you start telling people that they are wrong, they push back. Things escalate, people get banned or leave on their own. Reply to the thread, quote the bad information, and start by saying "I disagree with this...". It is a nonconfrontational way of dealing with the bad info and staying on topic.

Lastly, I like the mix that we have here on CSR. We have our share of jokers, regular folks, and serious boaters. All of us fit somewhere in between. I come here to read the excellent technical information that gets exchanged. Thanks to Gary, I know what to do when the head overflows, the info that Dave S posted helped me tremendously during my first 3 months of 260 ownership. At the same time, I like the joke threads and the political threads. For me, CSR is pretty close to being at the marina bar. Lots of serious boating chat, some fooling around, and someone always off to the side spewing BS.

I can understand starting a new site to get the content that you guys desire. I would hope that as Sea Ray owners, you would also visit CSR in addition to that new site. Leaving entirely simply hides the light under the barrel. There are quite a few of us on here that really do want to read what you guys know.

Since I don't know jack about real boating, I'll just have to stick to the occasional off color comment here and there. :smt021
