Am I the only one who is relieved the biggest jerk on the Internet has left CSR? Congratulations to all the letter writers!

I'm not trying to pick a fight. I just think there are a lot of people here who can now post without the fear of being punished. Just sayin'

It's a fresh start for me and other people. Maybe all the bullies will leave as well and we can have a forum without conflict.

Hopefully the integrity of the info remains sound....I liked Gary's firsthand experience

Yeah, it'll be nice not to be pointed out when you're wrong. Everyone can be an expert now.

Maybe anyone who knows something about boating should leave too. Then all of the "experts" can be "right" all the time.

"It's over. You win... you scared my wife... congratulations. Sending her a letter stating you've seen pictures of my house and you know where my kids go to school is over the top. The last line of the letter said "It might be wise to advice him cease from posting persoanl information as you never know what some people on the internet are capable of........"

The thread got locked before I could offer my condemnation of the so called letter. I'm appalled. There is simply no place for this. I mean really, using "advice" when clearly "advise" is the correct choice? I simply cannot condone that.

Makes me wonder something though, that is did our boy neglect to tell his wife that is was HIM that posted pictures of his house on this forum? and it was HIM that posted personal information of his children on this forum??
Bet he left that little tidbit out...
Seems Jim's assessment is dead nuts on, put personal information out there, piss off the wrong guy, and well, like Jim said, you reap what you sow.
No pity.

Jim,
I really hope you stand next to your one week ban. Hell ban me for posting in this thread if you want but please do something so people realize there are rules.

Where are our Moderators?

Seams Jims assesssment is dead nuts on, put personal information out there, piss off the wrong guy, and well, like Jim said, you reap what you sow.
No pity.

If I understand you correctly, if one sows bad grammar, then one should reap ridicule? Pitilessly, we find the following.

  1. that is did our boy - Punctuation missing.
  2. that is was HIM - Incorrect word. Potentially also incorrect nominative form. While one can argue the point either way, in written English, the form is awkward. See footnote 1.
  3. forum? and it - Improper capitalization.
  4. and it was HIM that posted Objective form instead of nominative. Op sit.
  5. information of his children - Incorrect proposition.
  6. Seams - Improper usage of homonym for "Seems."
  7. Jims - Use of plural instead of possessive, apostrophe missing.
  8. assesssment - Spelling error.
  9. No pity - Sentence fragment.

If one intends to make the point that another is stupid, it would be best not to appear dreadfully ignorant.

402. And there is one question about which grammarians are not agreed, namely, whether the nominative or the objective form should be used in the predicate after was, is, are, and the other forms of the verb be.

It may be stated with assurance that the literary language prefers the nominative in this instance, as,-
For there was little doubt that it was he. -Kingsley.

But still it is not she. -Macaulay.

And it was he
That made the ship to go.
-Coleridge.
In spoken English, on the other hand, both in England and America, the objective form is regularly found, unless a special, careful effort is made to adopt the standard usage. The following are examples of spoken English from conversations:-

"Rose Satterne, the mayor's daughter?"-"That's her." -Kingsley.

"Who's there?"-"Me, Patrick the Porter." -Winthrop.

"If there is any one embarrassed, it will not be me." -Wm. Black.
