First, welcome to CSR. There is a wealth of information here. Read and enjoy!

Second, "can anyone tell me how good the boat is." is a pretty broad statement/question. Remember, the more specific your question, the better chance for a quality answer. The site has an advanced search function, (top right of the page), that should provide for plenty of good reading.

Third, I own the '98 250DA. I think it is a great first boat. We here on the forum don't know which options are on the boat you are looking at, but again, ask away and these guys here can probably answer any question you may have.

As far as the price of the boat, search yachtworld & other for sale sites to gauge what is out there. Keep in mind the options on the one you are looking at as well as how you intend to use the boat.

Last but not least, never underestimate the value of a survey. I have never heard anyone say it was a waste of money! Good luck with your search. If this one dosen't work out, well you can always buy mine!

Seems like a real good price. I sold a 1998 250 last year for 23k with a trailer. Fresh water only. Your user name could use some work:smt013

Why are we assuming it's a 250? the OP says 250 hp, I'm assuming it got a two hundred and fifty horse power engine? WHAT BOAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? 1998 480DB for 11K is a freaking awesome deal so I say go for it but don't forget the survey, but a word of caution this boat will be terribly underpowered at only 250 hp!

Well he put boat details as 1998 240 sundancer......I will guess this is the mystery boat?

I love my 1997 290 Sundancer! The previous owners took good care of it, and I'm trying to do the same. People comment quite frequently how the boat looks good for its age. I think 1997 was the first year they made the radar arch slant forward, so the boat looks newer than it really is.

PS: As other have said, get the survey to be sure it's a good buy.
