98 400 DA Windshield Vent Seal

Search the forums as this has been discussed before. Some have purchase a replacement gasket from taylor made, but I think that's about $400. Some have replaced with some gasket material from McMaster Carr. Neither option has appealed to me so mine is still leaking. If you find a good solution please post.

Ditto. I took some urethane and smeared it over the gasket in a last ditch effort to make it seal last year and it didn't do much if anything. I too have pondered retrofitting a different seal but trying to find something in the correct shape/size plus UV stable is the challenge. There has to be a seal company that produces something that will work its just finding it.
 
I actually ordered and received that gasket "complete piece " from the parts Dept at Treasure Island marina Searay dealer in PC Beach. They ordered it from Taylormade. I have been buying parts there per recommendation of Frank Webster as I was getting run around from my local MM.
 
I ordered one through my local SeaRay dealer (along with the screw strip cover). Pricey but looks great. The parts person indicated Taylormade only deals with dealers.
 
Thanks to all for your replies. Seems like SeaRay is the first to look into, but will probably cost me...so am I surprised? If I come up with something else I will share. I appreciate your comments.
