'97 400 DA Diesel fuel senders - How to get to them?

Peter, update on the ice maker - It's OUT and I didn't have to cut anything.

Remove the side panel that is on the right side of the ice maker and is carpeted
Remove the screws on the left side securing the ice maker cabinet to the boat
Slide the water maker and housing to the right so you can get to the piece of wood that the ice maker rests on in the back. Remove the piece of wood or get it out of the way
Remove the rectangular piece the lower door latches attach to (the ones for the cabinet doors both left and right)...
Pull the ice maker forward and tilt the top back so that you can slide it out.
It barely fits out of the opening

Remember to undo the power and waterline before removing.

It was done in about 20 min... I needed a hand getting it off the boat but it's basically a one man job.

Now, what do I do? Do I replace it with a newer one? Put something else there?

Boat Guy,

Thanks for the advice. I did not think about removing the wood behind the icemaker. I'll give it another try someday. I have read somewhere that you can purchase a generic ice maker mechanism from appliance repair shops really cheaply and fix the uline unit. I'm happy to just chuck a bag of ice in the freezer for now.

I have excerpts from the U-Line user manual and you can get them off my dropbox at https://www.dropbox.com/s/mf4j4wsp3v0wm47/U-Line Ice Maker Service Manual.pdf

If that doesn't work PM me and I can email it to you.

Pete
