Just bought a 95 270 with 7.4L bravo 3. Very clean 413 hr's it has nice swim deck and also a 07 merc 9.9 4-stroke for trolling with remote. Im wondering what windlass to install and what a/c unit will run on a honda 2000 genny. I am having a problem with remote spotlight it turns in all directions but wont go up.
I dont know much about the boat but hope i catch on quick... Any HELP would be appreciated.

    Welcome aboard.

There is a good thread for this model here:http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=936

There are two windlass threads for this model, just do a search.

Portable generator use on a boat is STRONGLY discouraged by most members here , do a search to read the fireworks, don't fire it up. MM

Spotlight problem may be in joystick. Try using some contact cleaner. Worked for me.

Thanks for all the good info. I think i might just run a fan. It gets hot at Lakepowell. I do see a lot of people with portable generators. probably better to be hot and safe then cool and dead. How much fuel do you burn through with the 454 carb engine? I wish it had EFI,but for the price i couldn't pass it up. I was also wanting to install a good bbq that wouldn't get grease everywhere.

Wise decision on the generator usage. Check out Magma grills and mounts. They are what most here use and are intended for boats. Several good threads on grills and mounts. I'm mobile and can't post links as I'd like to. MM

On my vacuflush you can add water to the bowl by lifting up on the flush pedal. The water press. must be on or dockside water hooked up to accomplish this. Do you get any water coming into the bowl when you flush and hold the pedal down?

And water must be turned on using switch on dash.

94-96 270 model options do not list Vacu-flush as a feature or option. You most likely have an electric flush, but, stranger things have happened. MM

It is a vacu-flush but it is set up for electric i think. It has a place next to it for a key what ever that does i dont know, but i did find my problem the valve was turned off in the cock pit. As for the bbq i think i will get the smallest Weber portable they cook nice and you dont need to break out the polish... I would like to hear from some of you how long you can drive on a tank of fuel.

Wilmot, You probably have electric. Do you have the big foot pedal? Check out the 270 thread I linked above as I asked questions like this when I was looking. I have a pic of a manual toilet and someone posted a lin ti a Vacuflush, it is dead though. Do an image search on google and you will see one.

I was told to expect 2 mpg on plane at 25-30 mph and you should have a 100 gal tank. MM

When a vacuflush is flushed it makes a loud sucking sound, literally using vacuum to pull the bowl contents from the bowl, like an airplane unit . Electric flushes down with water to push the bowl contents similar to a home unit. MM

We have the climate control A/C and heat. We use it a lot. The heat extends the seasons of comfort in spring ad fall. The A/C keeps the cabin a comfortable temp for naps and getting out of the sun. I wouldn't look at vessels without it and a gennie as I searched. It seems cost prohibitive to add these items later. A previous owner spent 11k on the gennie installed. It's all in how you want to use the boat and budget. MM

Hope to see you out on the Lake. There are quite a few lake powell boaters on here.

When I started looking I wanted a newer 260, these were eliminated due to the short head room in the head for us. Then I focused on 94-99 270's. 94-96 were eliminated for lack of Vacuflush, (I never saw one with Vf for sale) few with A/C, and fewer with gennie's. Most 98-99 had fewer options than the 97 as SR made them a lower price boat, so 97 became the only boats I sought in the later stages of searching. I am interested in verification it is a Vacuflush, SR's site says they didn't offer it. Have you pulled up the brochure from the model archives on their site? MM

I went through the owner packet and its a manual marine toilet made by jabsco. Its just a toilet with a pump and a wet/dry selector. Why did you want this type?
