9-11

I was sitting on my couch watching TV. Wife was in the bathroom getting ready for work. I yelled in to her that a small plane hit a big building in NYC. A few minutes later the second one hit and I yelled into her 'something bad is happening'. Went and got my kids out of school, got all of my guns out and sat and watched the rest of the day wondering what might happen

I was at 40 thousand feet over Cuba. There is a frequency most pilots monitor for non essential communication. I heard an American pilot say we are returning to San Jose, followed by another saying we are returning to Guatemala City. Then another said “the security of the United States has been breached” I queried my dispatcher and was filled in. Unbelievable feeling! Landed in Ecuador and spent the next few days glued to the TV. I remember as if it were yesterday. A co-worker lost both parents in the Pentagon airplane. All these years later it still gets to me….

I was at home watching the news as I got ready for work. When I looked at the overall circumstances, ie., clear day, no clouds anywhere, no winds, etc., I knew it was not an accident.

I left for work and everyone at work was glued to TV's in the conference room. They were all talking about the "accident" until I shared my thoughts about the circumstances and said it was a terrorist attack.

About that time the 2nd plane hit the other tower, confirming my suspicions. Then the 3rd plane hit the Pentagon.

We spent the remainder of the next few days on the phones with clients assuring them this was not the end of the world and they should sit tight and make no changes to their accounts.

A photograph of a fire truck rushing to the scene of 9/11. All of six the firemen in Ladder 118 lost their lives saving people in the World Trade Center. The six men were Vernon Cherry, Leon Smith, Joey Agnello, Robert Regan, Pete Vega, and Scott Davidson. Vernon Cherry had been planning to retire at the end of the year. The 49-year-old had worked as a firefighter for nearly 30 years and had made a name for himself during that time.

United Airlines Flight 93 hero Todd Beamer had a conversation with Lisa Jefferson, a telephone operator in Chicago, before the crash. He asked her to pray with him. They recited the Lord's prayer together. He left behind his pregnant wife Lisa and two sons. His daughter was born nearly four months after his heroic death.

I tell ya, these stories bring my blood back to a boil all over again. All those wonderful Americans gone because of those no good rag-heads. Now they have an additional 6 Billion dollars to use against us thanks to our President. Those heroes' memories deserve better.

The final scene of the movie flight 93, when the passengers were trying to take control of the plane from the evil bastards, the camera is showing out the front of the plane as the ground is spiraling towards you and then goes black. Man that gives me chills!

It was a dark day. We need to stand strong and fix this country

I was doing a root canal on a patient that morning. I still remember his name. I was just a few blocks from the Richmond, Va airport with a very pregnant wife at home. When the 2nd plane hit I sent my staff home because everything was heading south, literally. I was afraid something would happen at or near the airport. I was 2 months removed from active duty USAF and swore I was going to be recalled and we were going to war.

I was in downtown Richmond, on the VCU campus, where the office was then. I didn't make a lot of money then, could barely pay the monthly bills but it's the first time I gave what to me was a substantial donation to the Red Cross to help. It felt good to do something.
