I am the proud new owner of a '89 340 DA. It needs a fuel sending unit on the starboard tank. I know it is located below the aft cabin floor panel. It looks like a major job to remove (just starboard side) floor panel. I am trying to think of an easier way to get to the unit besides removing the floor panel such as cutting an access hatch over where the sending unit is located. The trick is where to cut. Any ideas?
Many thanks,
Joe

The sending unit is in that hump in the middle of the rear of the tanks. It has 2 screws on either side remove those and the gobbs of RTV and there ya have it. I had to replace my fuel lines last year.

As flarepoman says. Under the hump you have the bond/sending unit and fuel line connection for both tanks.

Sending units are cheap. Just do both when you have it open.

Flarepoman, thanks for the info. So the hump you are refering to is visible after the matresses are removed? I did notice a carpeted wedge shaped piece about 1 1/2 ft. long attached with screws and rtv centered at the aft wall over where the tanks are. Is this the hump? That sounds too easy to get to. I will replace both units, once I am there.

JD thats it !!! Could not be any more easy than that!!!! I took mine out because I had bad fuel line's portside. Plus I pulled the sender to see if anything was in the tank.

Rick,
Thanks for the confirmation. I can't wait to get on it. Do you have any recommendations on sending unit type/mfr.?
Thanks, JD
