Anybody ever change their fuel fill and vent hoses? After twenty years I think its time, but how do you reach them! I can see the clamps and the connections to the tank and may even be able to use a long screwdriver to remove the clamps but I hav eno idea how to remove that old hose or how to get the new one over the tank barb. There is only about three inches from the tank top to the bottom of the deck. Looks like Sea Ray installed the hoses and then set the deck on top and fished the hoses thru at the same time.

Ideas?

Remove the screws to the deck fill and pull the hose up that way. You may have to cut the hose off as I have.

Soak the new hose in boiling water and that will expand it and allow you to push it over the barbs.

Good idea on the hot water, I'll give that a try.

I haven't looked at my hoses, but I've been considering this as well. Fuel as well as to the carb and return (if any). I'm sure it's going to involve a lot of cussing, so I'll have to send the family away for the afternoon!

How about applying a little dish washing liquid? Some of the vent hoses may only be rated for 185 deg F.....or less.

Jim, I was thinking a hair dryer or heat gun. Obviously not anywhere near the fuel tank, but heat it and then slide it on. And yes, it will require a lot of cussing.
