Hello everyone,

Just got my hands on an 89 300 Sundancer last weekend. Cant explain how excited I am about this boat, but there are some things that need some fixing and even though I have learned a lot from the forums already from searches, I couldn't find an answer on how to access the sending units on the 300. The owners manual shows them on the aft side of each tank near the transom, but I can't seem to figure out how to access them. Any advice would be fantastic.
Thank you in advance

Mike

Mike,
did you buy from private seller or dealer? if private, ask them, somebody had this boat for the last 30 years and is intimately familiar with it.

Bought the boat through a broker. The previous owner had all work done by a mechanic. This is more of a I want to learn the how to's and such. Thank you for the quick reply though. :)

Pull the carpeted dividers out of the little hatches under each step port and starboard. Once removed, you can access the sending units from above. I stood in the bilge and worked thru those hatches. Get the Moller sending units, they solder vertically and read more accurately than he arm type.

Scorpio, let me ask you another question.. For the rear fold down bench, what is supposed to support it? Mine had to be screwed it back on, but I don't see anything to support it when its folded out.

There should be two fold down hinged legs. Mine had plastic hinges and broke. I replaced them with three nice units from Gaerlick. You could always make some out of short lenghts of stainless tubing and some rubber feet and a hinge of some sort.
