Hello all, I’m trying to find information on removing the switch panel on my 87 sundancer 250. I have some things not working, (lights, etc..) and a switch for cabin lights is missing. It appears there are screws from the backside that hold the panel on but I don’t see a way to access them. From the drop down access in the head I can only get to the fuses and back of the gauges. Not the switches. Any help is appreciated. Only 2 more weeks until the slip is ready and I’m trying to work out all the kinks on this new to me boat.

Can you post a picture of the dash?

In lieu of that, it sounds like you have bolts glued onto the panel. Look for another nearby panel or small hatch that would be removed, first, to give access. Possibly removing the gauge panel will give access. Hard to say without a picture, though.

@Lazy Daze. Front and backside. You may be into something with the instrument panel needing to be removed. Let me know if the pictures go through

Pics are good. Boy, those electrical connections are CLEAN - especially for a 35-year old boat!

OK, that's different than I was expecting. You might want to wait till someone that has direct experience with a similar setup posts, but in the meantime, maybe a little more investigation will get you there... how is the padded dash "surround" attached? Can you see a way to remove it? Can you pry it up just a bit to look in to see how it's attached? Just wondering if it's hiding switch panel screws. I'm not sure if SR was using "Christmas trees" in '87, where the dash surround just pops on/off. What is that (screw/nut?) on the backside of the switch panel in the upper, port corner? How about the other corners?

@Lazy Daze yes it’s is a very clean boat! Been stored indoors for a bit. Just trying to work out the kinks. The engine fired right up when I got it home. We did manage to get the panel off. It was quite the puzzle to get it off. Found a couple of the issues and need to order a switch and a circuit breaker. Cant wait to get it out on the water.
