I have a 1986 Sea Ray Sundancer 25. Just discovered the gas tank has a leak (small - but likely others as well) in the bottom (70 gal). Suggestions for repaor or other options without removing the engine to get at the tank (to replace).

There's no way to repair (most likely replacement will be needed, though) without getting the tank out. And that usually means removing the engine. There's no magical solution here. Removing the engine is a pretty straight forward job for someone with experience and doesn't take all that long.
Don't mess around with this. It probably goes without saying, but DO NOT use the boat again until this is fixed.[/QUOT
Much appreciated. Sound advice. Was hoping didn't have to remove the engine as I just replaced it....now have to remove once again. Have you checked this out yet? My boat must have had a tank problem and they stuck a 30 gal beside the motor. Cruising range sucks.Ok ....definitely investigating that option.
