Has anyone looked to add additional support to the center of the windshield? There is a lot of glass without a lot of support. Because of the opening for the cabin there isn't much room to add a support. I was looking to see what you may have used to support the frame better?
Thanks
Darren

I have the same exact boat and know exactly what your talking about. Ive thought about adding a support as well. Theres a good bit of flex at the top center. I have no advice right now but would like to know if anyone else has added anything to theirs.

Right now, I'm in the process of adding an atlantic towers custom hard top on my boat. With a full enclosure added, It should help support it a bit. I could also add a support from the top of the windshield up to the hardtop frame.

A hard top tied into the windshield would be the best way to go. I am not planning on adding one anytime soon. Post some pics of your new addition when you get them!

Will Do.

I have yet to take any pics of my boat and need to get some. Should have taken some last year before launching when she was all cleaned up. Its filthy now....lol.

I got the hard top mounted this past weekend and now im getting estimates for an enclosure. I sure didnt expect the price of an enclosure to be more than the actual hard top was.....OUCH. for that matter the price of the eclosure is almost as much as i paid for the boat...lol.

If you have some pics of yours, I'd love to see them.

I have alot of plans to do alot of modernization to my boat eventually and love seeing pics of others to get some ideas.

WOW ..... That new vinyl looks great, especially on the dash. (My dash looks horrible and needs a make over too)
Did you make any other changes to the dash before recovering?
It looks a little different than mine.

I also love that seat with the flip up bolster.
Mine has the back to back on both sides.
The lounge in the back looks good too but that just takes away from the fishing room
Ive contemplated removing my fold down bench and put a big cooler with cushioned top back there.
Need Plenty of room for those chesapeake bay rockfish.

What are you using on your teak? Your pulpit and side rails in the back look great.

Thanks for the compliment. Last year I sanded and refinished the teak with teak oil only (several coats). Fortunately its moored in a covered slip all summer long so there is not very much sun/ water ill effects. This spring I treated the bow pulpit and runners with Cetol. They were graying by the end of last summer so I sanded them down and hit them with 3 coats of Cetol (it has many fans on CSR). I am debating using it on the teak on the gunwalls and stern railing, but I am concerned about making them slippery.

I bought the captains and passengers seats off of http://veada.com/index.html and had the dash, sides, and rear bench recovered locally with the same matching vinyl. It turned out better then I expected. The dash was recovered as is. The flip up bolster is awesome and since I ordered the seats from scratch you can pick your own height to make them. Really helps if you have trouble seeing out while underway while seated. Since we do mostly cocktail cruising/ rafting/ swimming and not fishing, seating was a major concern for us. I appreciate the open cockpit for the little ones- no steps to stub a toe on, but as its intended purpose I understand its great for fishing.
