8.1 power issue

If your concerned about paint from the CF3 module, you may want to flush out the fuel rail while it's off the motor.

Look for any debris. Also you could use a rubber hose and container to run the pump and flush that assembly as well.

If this is a CF3 paint issue, I suspect that the new injectors will help for a short time, but they too will eventually get clogged with debris.

I guess if I get the injector fuel rail off and find debris I'll need to remove and service the CF3 unit?

From what has been discussed on other threads, mercruiser will supply the parts for free, but only to an authorized service rep and you have to pay for the labor to install it.

They also provide $$ for injector cleaning and/or replacement if I remember correctly.

Mine was done by the previous owner so I don't have first hand experience with the whole process.

I ordered a set as well. I will sell the old ones on ebay or keep for a spare.
Ordered yesterday, will be at my door at 3:00 today. Will change them Saturday.
This is preventative maintenance for me. I planned on having them cleaned, but for the price, I went with new to simplify things.

This is a GREAT opportunity to become an internet star and video/photo record the DIY! :)
