As has been posted on this forum before, some owners have had the linear actuator that opens the windshield vent fail. Mine went out last year. It would extend out, but once retracted, it would not work. Seemed to be a problem with the limit switch.

I had seen various posts about these units and replacements were quoted between $250 and $300. So at those prices I just removed the unit and opened the vent manually. However, I decided to do some Internet searching and found a very similar looking unit on eBay with the 2 inch stroke. It was listed as slightly used. Took a chance and bought it for $60. It is almost an exact replacement for the failed unit. All I had to do was change the wire connector. Installed it and it works perfectly! So if you need one of these units, keep checking eBay.
