580 Stern Thruster Failure

Our Vetus stern thruster failed after 39 months. The bolts (2) that hold the drive unit together failed - the heads of the cap bolts sheared off. Has anyone has a similar experience? The repair was more than 5K out of pocket so I am not a happy camper.

That $ucks. How old is the unit and have you been checking/changing the zincs? I'm wondering if corrosion was the cause of the bolt failure.
