560 DB Owners Club

I have the MANs so I am not sure about the Cat burn rates. But knowing the boat fairly well I'd imagine your burning 45-55 gal/hr anywhere between 22-24 knots. The hull seems to really like minimum 23kts loves 25-28kts but the fuel burn would be a bit higher.

I just figure on 1/2 mile gallon so easy 350 + mile range minimum.

I have the 3406E's - great engines!

Man, I'm just excited that the 560DB owner's thread is getting some action - first time in a year!

At 2000 rpm's, I'm burning 65 GPH and doing 30 mph. That's my normal cruising speed. I've found that if your looking at gallons per mile (i.e., fuel economy to distance, not time) there is a big flat spot in what you're getting. I'm not sure that you'd be getting better distance - fuel economy at 22 knots.

At WOT, I burn 80 GPH doing about 35 mph.

Hello all!

Just wanted to say "hi" and throw my name in the hat to join the club! I closed on a new (to me) 2001 560 Sedan Bridge about 3 weeks ago. This is my first "big" boat, so I'm sure I'll have lots of questions!

Joel, welcome aboard and congrats on your new 560.

Here's a video of some of the fun you'll have when you get her into some waves.....

Merry Christmas all! Every Christmas - I go to a friends house in Boca Raton and this will be my second year with the yacht there. Often times I drink too much or get dragged away to some other location and I'm the only boat thats been at that dock in 30 years and there's no shore power! I always leave the genny on but sometimes it runs for 24 hours or so unattended. I don't like doing that. Any harm in turning off both main breakers at the panel and any unnecessary breakers at the panel and just leaving it for a day or two then coming back when I make it back and flipping the genny back on?

Should be no problem. But, if you shut off all breakers you will not have 12v power to the fridge/freezer & ice-maker. If you have stuff you don't want to melt/spoil and your batteries are charged you should be fine if you leave your breakers on and shutoff everything but the refrigeration. If your refrig is normally running on 120v, remember to turn on the 12v breakers.

Merry Christmas, Art

I have a question regarding the exhaust fan in the heads. At least on my boat, its LOUD. If a guest happens to be in the 3rd guest room with the bunks, the master head vent fan is REALLY loud. So, every morning, I'm torn between waking up whomever is sleeping in there, and hoping for a nice breeze from the shower's window :)

Has anyone figured out where the fan is for the head vent, and tried to replace it with something quieter?

My fan is loud too. We don't use it but do use air sprays and candles. Not that I would ever need an air freshener when I'm done! :smt101

Hi, new 560 owner here! Getting ready io launch her next week. Do any of you have a picture or can describe where the spare props would be mounted from the factory? I bought spare props and I'm trying to figure out where and how to mount them in the aft bilge. I have an idea but would like to see what others have done or factory location.
