55/580 sundancer dilema

Can some one give me proper explanation.... please...
is a 55 sundancer is 3 foot shorter than the 580 sundancer... i just cant tell the difference, where does it show...?
here is a comparison layout elevation of both models from the Official website and they are exact... how can this be so ??

They are the same boats.

Sea Ray changed their method for measuring the boats for marketing purposes in about 2007-2008. The current method measures the boat from the furthest point forward including the anchor pulpit, guide, roller, etc. to the farthest point aft that is part of the boat. The earlier models did not include the anchor pulpit, the roller, anchor guide etc.

is its so... really..
then the lengths of all compartments on the boat are the same... this is incredible.
all i noticed was that most 580 had bigger engines MAN 900
im thinking about this boat, for Gibraltar area, if its as seaworthy as the 540 DA should be perfect.

You will love the 580DA. It is a lot of boat.... heavy, soft, dry ride.... and with 900 hp MAN's, she is a great performer. The only Sundancer that is any better is the 610DA which is nearly a perfect boat.
