500 hours on a 10 year old boat?

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2001 280 Sundancer from an acquaintance at a great price. The boat has been meticulously maintained and serviced with all records available. It will be our first boat, we actually had an offer on the same model a few years back but backed out because we had a newborn. It is fully loaded Twin 4.3's with ~500hours on the engines. I am planning on having it surveyed, but other than that any concerns or thoughts on a 10 year old boat with 500 hours?

I have a 2005 280DA with 470 hours on it. I bought mine in 2010 with less than 250 hours on her. I prefer a boat (especially a saltwater boat) that has been used over one that just sits there and corrodes. I wouldn't worry about the hours as long as it's been cared for and the survey (hull and mechanical) and such come back clean.

Mine's a 1995 with 610 hours coming from the same waters.. If it's been maintained I wouldn't be concerned.... Are the engines FWC or raw water cooled?

That's a perfect number - 50 hours a season. Heck, I bought mine with 620 hours at 8 years. The maintenance and service history are the key.

I bought mine at 8 years old and just over 200 hours on her. In about a year and a half she now has about 330 hours. Throw another 60 hours on the dink and it has been a good time!
