500/520 DB official thread

So I was planning on mounting my life raft up on the hard top. Now thinking that is probably not the most ideal location in an emergency. Where do you guys have yours mounted or stored?

You are in that deep so why put old back in? Worst case put the tops back in as the tops.
That's like rebuilding your car's engine and reusing the bearings.....
No sir, all 4 new. I'd have put old back in if I could not find replacements. I finally tracked them down (if they are the same) Ebay wants $20 each. Taylor Made finally answered @ $140 each. I'll keep posting when I get the ebay ones.

Keep ours stored in bunk room. Ours is a soft cover. We simply put it in the cockpit when we do any crossings.
Thank you. Bunk room sounds like a good place. Boat is still in MD so I have not had the opportunity to look at all storage areas.

Curious if anyone has insulated the "fish box" in the cockpit, and if so, how did you do it?

We also use it for drinks I thought of spray insulation also was looking for a refrigeration coil with a seperate compressor.

another thing I wondered was if I could convert it to an electric grill, have a piece of granite cut and drop in the grill all electric done in the ER.

I have the grill/sink/fridge combo and love it.

Getting ready to haul out end of next week.
Replacement Tides lip seals came in today.
Delrin shaft bushings are machined and ready to go. Fun day....View attachment 102788View attachment 102787View attachment 102786
This afternoon - keel blocks set up and surveyed. We'll be within a 1/16" end to end.

The grill is a favorite addition for us. Boat outfitters cut the top from a template I gave them. Hardest part was getting the guts to cut up the boat.

Boat is in. I took off the water filter between my pump and manifold this weekend, as we seemed to have reduced flow. I found the filter.

Anyone have this, or have a source?

It looks like mine. I have spares on the boat. I can check this weekend for the part number when I am at the boat if no ones gets it to you first.

Mine is to the starboard side of the cable master. My freshwater pump sits amidship to the aft. If you can see that, just follow the water line.

Has anyone tried to match the OEM Hardwood in the Galley? Sea Ray said the wood and color is Santos Cabreuva (sp?) Mahogany but I am not sure that is correct. Maybe the Trim Edges is Santos.

Maybe Teak...?
