Regarding the battery switches in our boats. I have one that doesn't light up all of the time. I will check for loose wires next time I'm there, but for my education, what type of switch is it? On/Off/On Momentary? Are the bulbs replaceable in them (and if so, where the hell to find them)? Mike

Thanks Carter. If you can't, I'll ask on the FP page instead. Probably should have started there. M

Those switches actuate latching relays so they are momentary-off-momentary with a single lamp carling Contrua III.
Sea Ray P/N's are Actuator 126298, Body 1260231. Like Carter states above the switch is a DPDT momentary with single lamp https://newwiremarine.com/product/momentary-on-off-on-dpdt/

I ended up finding then on amazon with help from someone on here. This is what I bought:

4-Pack Compatible for WaterPur CCI-10-CLW Activated Carbon Block Filter - Universal 10 inch Filter for WaterPur Clear Water Filter Housing https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D8X9X2Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_fF9zDbJGY4PPZ

I am having troubles finding the adapters to go from the 3/4" Standard Male Thread going into a Male Hose and a Female hose 3/4" threads for each side of the Filters. What am i missing.

You May need to use a few separate pieces to make the transition. Home Depot or Lowe’s will have everything you need to do so provided they keep the shelf stocked.

Spikedaddy99’s post reminded me I should post my numbers.

I had the props repitched this winter. I had them taken down from 31.5” to 30” pitch so. Now they are 28”x30”. I did this In an effort to get my fuel burn down to prevent exhaust manifold leaks. I didn’t get around to adding EGT sensor, that will come next winter.
Last fall before repitch my numbers where: @ 2000rpms.

Data Port. Starboard
% throttle 80%. 80%
% load. 78%. 77%
GPH. 23.9. 23.7

After repitch

Data Port. Starboard
% throttle 80%. 80%
% load. 69%. 70%
GPH. 21.2. 21.5

I am now cruising at about 25mph with 90% fuel, 50% water, empty waste, pretty well loaded with gear and 2 people on board.

So I am getting close to the magic fuel burn rate of 20gph @ 2000rpms.
I’ve been meaning to get to asking this question. After all your repitching are you done or would you go more? I am still running the factory 28 x 32 and need to repitch. I’m going to just buy a new set and use my current one for spares. What would you buy? My numbers aren’t even close to yours. I’m still at 30 gah and can only reach 2200 rpm. The boat made rated rpm when I purchased it full of full water etc. but now we have all the other extras. Tools stuff and more stuff. Bottom was just cleaned so that’s not it. It makes sense it’s the props so when I move the boat this spring 2020 I’m changing them out. Thanks

I am interested in this as well however I am burning around 22gph per engine at 2000rpm and about 29 MPH.

I am going to have pitch taken out of my props (at least that’s what the specialist suggested he would do.

My shop wants $900 or so to tune both props.

30gph seems like really high fuel burn at 32” pitch. When I had 31.5” I was around 24gph and it go to the 2360 governed redline. I have been noting my fuel numbers all season and I am going to put it on a graph but my latest numbers with full fuel, full water and 2ft following sea from yesterday were:

80% throttle
2000 rpms
Port 71% load
Starboard 74% load
Port 21.8gph
Starboard 22.4gph.

I have noticed my load and fuel fuel burn going up a bit as the season has gone on but I have been in the water since April so I probably have a little bit of growth on the bottom and running gear.

Would you go with 28 x 30 pitch props in my case or go less in your opinion

What speed are you running at 2000rpm?
Sounds like I am pretty close to your numbers except at the numbers you mentioned I am at 74-78% load.

I think you need to figure out why your fuel burn is so high with the current pitch first. Maybe someone else can chime in but is seems like you have something else wrong as well. You said you could make WOT when you bought the boat but now you can’t, what has changed?
I was always able to make 2360rpms even at 31.5” pitch the issue was my fuel burn and load was higher. I am going to stick with the 30” pitch and see how things go over time. I am hoping to add a egt gauge this winter and that will give me another metric to determine if I have it correct. I hate to take too much pitch out and lose cruise speed. We tend to run at cruise speed a lot to get to where we want to go with the the limited time we have on the boat so speed is a factor for us.

We cruise right at 24-25mph at 2000rpms. It has slowed a bit later in the season but I attribute that to a moderately dirty bottom and running gear. We are out almost every weekend so I can’t be too bad but I seemed to be slowing a bit as the season has going on.
