Does anyone know if I can get an Ethernet cable from the bridge stereo area to the starboard A Pillar, where the 12V CO detector is located?

I would like to position my WiFi Ranger router in this position (it’s ideal to pick up my marina’s signal), with a direct Ethernet connection to control the Fusion stereo, since the WiFi connection can be iffy at times. Is there an existing run that I can take advantage of from these two locations? Or certain panels that need to be removed to see a pathway? Here are pics of where I want the Ethernet cable to run:

Thanks so much.

I have ran many wires from the helm/stereo area down through the kick panels (beside the passenger seat) in the helm, down behind the salon entertainment center (which requires pulling the doors and component rack out) and down to the engine room or out to the storage area behind the starboard steps. Once your in the engine room you can run in the wire trays around the engine room into the laundry area.

Not sure how to get from the laundry room to the bunk room or up in that pillar above the Microwave.

Might be able to pop up behind the refrigerator/freezer (which will require pulling them out) and then fish up to the pillar and windshield area although I haven’t tried that area…

I will try to update this post with some pictures of these areas unless someone beats me to it…

Thanks so much. I am hopeful that there is a somewhat "easy" channel to fish an ethernet cable through to connect these two locations.

I have been searching for the ideal position to place this WiFi Ranger Spruce router. The area under the windscreen seems pretty ideal, as it's out of the way and there is already an active 12V source from the CO detector. I really appreciate any help you can offer so I am no re-inventing the wheel and pulling off panels that are unnecessary. I have unlimited CAT6 cable, so I prefer to take an easier, longer route if available.

Also, where has everyone else positioned their WiFi routers?

My Wi-Fi router is in the entertainment cabinet under the TV. I removed all the satellite equipment and it sits in that space. Although not ideal being in a cabinet, I have no problem with Wi-Fi range. My modem is mounted to the salon window behind the couch on the starboard side. The rotor is connected to the modem via ethernet cable.

I have my router behind the television in the solon. The big difference is my communications with outside WiFi (WAN) is through an external antenna using a Ubiquiti Bullet. Throughout my boat as well as far as my neighbor's boats I have great connectivity with the router.

Regarding the routing of the wiring to where that CO monitor is where you want to install your router - there are two possibilities of which I think the first is most likely - The first routes from the solon circuit breaker panel down to the engine room then over to the starboard side and along the fuel tank then across the forward bulkhead and through the bulkhead into the tunnel under the stateroom hallway. That wire harness then comes up out of the tunnel and supports electrical in the Master Head and Starboard stateroom. A pair from that harness supports the CO monitor which is above the Starboard stateroom.
The other less likely is from the solon breaker panel down into the engine room then across to the starboard side and up into the entertainment cabinet. The power wiring for the CO monitor can either be routed behind the starboard couch and the galley then up to where the CO monitor is or up to the ceiling trim piece above the windows and across to where the CO monitor is.

Thank you both for your replies. I will reassess my situation and try out both of your proposed pathways, ttmott. I am truly amazed and thankful for your expertise in the schematics of this vessel!

After a bunch of contractor issues They are finally getting started with soda blasting the bottom of the boat. They got about half of it done in one day. I’m interested to see how this affects my fuel burn and load on the engine's.

I wonder how much also. What are your props at now pitch and diameter?
I couldn’t remember exactly so I had to look it up and funny thing is you asked me the same question a little over a year ago in post 2196.

Here are the reports for the props. I forgot that the last time I had the props repitched I was trying to get my fuel burn closer between the motors so my final numbers are 28x29.5 and 28x30. One says main set and one says spare set but I had both sets repitched at the same at the same time so they are virtually identical now.

Will you use a barrier coat over your gel coat prior to bottom paint?
Yes, it is getting two coats of barrier coat, then one coat of red bottom paint with two coats of black bottom paint over that

This is on the agenda for this fall. What are you using for the barrier coatings. Ablative or hard antifouling?

The boat yard is doing the painting, so I’m not sure what they are using for a barrier coat. Paint will be ablative Hydrocoat. I prefer Interlux Micon extra as I have had good luck with it but the boat yard uses hydro coat so that’s what we’re going with for now. I will be interested to see how it compares to the Micron Extra

Thanks!
I used Pettit Hydrocoat on my last boat and had good results. No complaints other than the boat has to be used; you can't let it sit for a month...
On the 52DB I have Trinidad Pro hard antifouling which is very good also. The issue is I have to recoat every year after haulout because I'm out of the water for a week. The only other issue was with an infestation of tubeworms a couple of years ago which the antifouling did little to stop those little buggers.
I'll probably go back to an Ablative.

Good to know you like the hydrocoat. The boat yard likes it and they paint about 200 bottoms spring, so I assume they like it for a reason

My bottom was very clean last year with the hydrocoat they put on.

Glad to see your getting this moving finally, we hitup breakfast at Black Dog for mother's day. Heads up that the new VH town ordinance does not allow dogs on the porch anymore at BD.

I am jealous. We do that every year except this year do to the delays with getting the bottom done. Good to know about the dog, it is too bad because he likes it at the Black Dog too.

They finished the soda blasting. They did a decent job. Took it a little too far in a few areas. The gel coat will have to be repaired there. Overall it came out really well.

2100 RPM is great if calm seas. Not possible if rough. Anyway, I took 2 inches out and had 0 change. I am above 20GPH but below 1000 degrees at 2000rpm.

@spikedaddy99 can you share your EGT at 1600-1700-1800-1900-2000 if you have them?

I recall seeing 2100 mentioned vaguely in all of the research that I've done but 18 GPH @ 2000 is what's burned into my brain. That being said, I was running at 2070 last week with EGT's around 985 and 67% load so I think I could get away with it and the extra speed was nice. My EGT's drop with every RPM increase above 1700.

@quality time can you also share your EGT at 1600-1700-1800-1900-2000 if you have them?
