5.0 HOSE Molded Thermostat Housing To Hose Extender

I have a 1998 290 Sundancer with twin 5.0's The STBD eng fan belt has cut a grove in the "HOSE Molded Thermostat Housing To Hose Extender" Item #8 .... Can I change it while the boat is in the water or.....

Simple answer...above the waterline no problem, below,.. more so. You could probably stuff a rag in the line upstream while you do the work
