Looking for some local knowledge. What are the best shows to view via boat in the Ft. Lauderdale area? I watched the A1A/Las Olas show from the beach last year but I didn't pay attention to see if they would let you anchor close off shore and watch it.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Tom,

The Las Olas is about the only Fort Lauderdale fireworks show on the 4th...I'm not sure how close you can get...Chad and Ray might know; I'll talk to them tomorrow on the phone and let you know what they have planned too.

Thanks Barry. I should have paid attention when I watched the show from the beach last year.

Seems like it would be fun to watch it from the water but not so fun to get yanked out of a security zone.

Greetings, Our boat club will have a gathering/rafting in North Lake at Hollywood on the ICW. I've always watched the fireworks in the Keys at Blackwater sound, so I don't know how it will be. I've been told you can see the Hollywood and FLL fireworks from there. Alot of us will set the hook and turn on the genny, as to not incite any constabulatory interference on the trip home...
Be safe out there....

Okay Dudes, here is a little known secret display that runs 5 minutes shorter than the Lauderdale beach display.

On your charts, find the Lauderdale Yacht Club at the end of SE 12st. On the sand bar just north of the clubs private channel off the ICW, will be the display barge. The club & City have a separate display literallyjust off my bow when docked!

Boats can anchor to the south of the private channel in good water OR with local knowledge to the north of the LYC docks but west of the sand bar. The display will commence immediately after darkness 9:00 to 9:10 PM. The display will go if there is no lightning and any cloud ceiling is high enough to get the shells up.

When watching by boat, its a good idea to position your boat upwind as the display is on on top of you and the ash fall out is up close and personal.

Have agreat 4th!

Chad
