4th Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, AC, NJ

You have to think about this one?

Dale

Exactly what I was thinking...boat ride down the Hudson, past Lady Liberty and the WTC? By sea!

I know, I know! I assume you will still have Mustang in July? I am talking with another SRBCNC member about joining me in lieu of the Admiral. I'll either be solo or with my buddy.

Dale says 1st half mill takes Mustang. Bargain at twice the price, so you may have to wind up renting a car.

So,
We are contemplating making the Atlantic City run this summer. We wanted to make the run last year but were unable to get the time [before or after] to make the trip work. This year it actually may work out. The current thinking is to hang for the weekend with the group and take the next week navigating the "Jersey Shore" on our way back north to NY.
Having never boated the NJ ICW, looking for tips to where to go, stay and what to do. All pointers and ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks
ron

ALL RIGHT RON!!!
Glad to have you. First question is how many stops do you want to make and how much time are you taking for the trip?

Ron - Thanks

We have the week. So 3 to 5 stops depending on what's to see / do. We are open to [prefer] anchoring / dingy to shore or @ Marina for a night or two. May tie up overnight at some "friendly's" house for a night. Would like to end up at Liberty Landing to meet kids Saturday night.
Hit me with some ideas!

How many days down here - how long you figure it'll take you to get to Manasquan Inlet? Or would you rather come in at Barnegat Inlet? Are you interested in getting to a beach while down here? Couple of suggested stops might be Point Pleasant, Barnegat Light and Beach Haven. Pt. Pleasant might be tough to get a slip. Barnegat Light has a nice anchorage (just inside the inlet) but not too much to do there. Beach Haven is very nice, fairly easy to get a slip and walk to the beach.

Good fuel prices in Beach Haven too..........

Yes, a Long Island boater will wet his pants with excitement as he approaches the fuel dock at Beach Haven Yacht Club Marina!

Dale, you've made this trip many times. Any suggestions for Ron? And if I'm not mistaken, you've gunk-holed in High Bar Harbor.

Beach Haven is so close to AC that if I made it that far on the way down to AC, I'd just come all the way. The Point Pleasant canal is very scenic, after entering at Manasquan Inlet, and provides shelter if conditions are less than ideal. If I was coming from LI, I'd either make the trip in one shot in the Atlantic, or enter at Manasquan, split the trip into 2 days, and find a nice spot to either anchor or get a slip for the night. The Barnegat anchorage is picturesque, but the flies may drive you crazy, depending on the weather. There's fuel right there though, and a dinghy ride gets you to shore, so it's a pretty good spot.

We will make the straight shot to AC assuming good sea conditions.
May duck in for fuel somewhere to have safe margin.
Last year when I was considering the trip Rod mentioned the anchorage near Barnegat light.
Wet my pants - Beach Haven??? Hmmm

Dale,
Manasquan would be the adverse sea conditions plan for sure.

Bump... I plan on making my reservations latter this week... Finally took the wrap off my boat... Never sure if it will run, but I am hopeful...

You haven't missed any fun-in-the-sun with this crappy weather, that's for sure! I'm sure she'll run like a champ!

Made the reservation today - I think... Nick took my information and said no problem..........
