"Snow is on the ground in 49 out of the 50 states — only the Sunshine State of Florida is completely snow-free, according to a map produced Thursday morning by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

(This doesn't mean that those 49 states are snow-covered, of course, only that some part of each state has snow.)

Although this map doesn't show it, there is snow in Hawaii, where webcams are showing snow on the high peaks of the mountain volcanoes of Mauna Loa.

The map also doesn't include Alaska, but it's a given that most of that state is snow-covered this time of year. A quick check with the National Weather Service forecast office in Fairbanks found 19 inches of snow on the ground there.

Yep. I made the right decision.

Our Floating docks have been damaged from the snowstorm. The roofs are sagging and the walkways are under water. Got an email with some pictures last night taken by another CSR member. My boat is still floating but listing to port. Fortunately the roofs have not collapsed. Will try and get it checked out today as the snow should melt quite a bit.

My mother in laws boat house collapsed on Lake Norman yesterday. With their boat in it. Fairly new Hurricane deck boat

did you give any consideration to moving the boats out of the dock area? After I saw what happened to Frisco Boater I would try to avoid the marina in heavy snow or ice.

Mid to upper 70's all week and pure sunshine! Just saying.......

Getting to the boat is as big a problem as trying to move it. Snow and Ice make it difficult to get around on the roads since most of them are not plowed or salted. And I don't have my AWD Explorer any longer. Instead I have a newer FWD car with (the new standard) crappy all-season low rolling resistance tires that are just terrible in snow. On top of that my 40 year old snow shovel that I brought down from Ohio broke as I was trying to clear my drive this AM.:smt043:smt043

Maybe I can get out this afternoon...things are starting to melt.

My feet don't touch the ground when I walk in the snow...starting to get deep. It's getting hard for the deer to move around and browse, they are just laying around now waiting for spring. They will expend more energy trying to eat than they'll get, so they conserve...if it gets bad enough a doe will even absorb her fetus to survive...kind of neat what mother nature can do.

The Florida Panhandle got to share in the icy fun last week. :wow:
We were at 63 today and heading to the 70s. Now if we could just get a little more water under the boat in low tide (REALLY low this winter), we'd be off. May be looking at another marina where not such an issue . . .

This was taken at noon today………………not much I can add other than the news report was correct. We have no snow, but we did have a beautiful day on the water.
