Doesn't you owner's manual have a drawing like this?

Great question, to which I don't have a good answer. I will look in my docs to see if I have this diagram. Thanks for the tip.

Several possibilities: Torn Shaft seal, Worn shaft packing, Burst in a thru-hull water hose, a shore water connection with too much pressure may have burst (Happened to me once on a previous boat. Fortunately I was on the boat when it happened. No damage, but it could have sunk the boat.) There are lots of things that can go wrong on a boat! What could have caused this?

My original thought would be a through hull water hose. The article says they stopped for lunch, which would lead me to believe it was not parked long. If the boat was taking on water prior to docking it, an alarm should have gone off when the emergency bilge kicked on....assuming it worked. It would be nice to know. By the way they pulled the boat away after floating it, my guess is was a through hull.Several possibilities: Torn Shaft seal, Worn shaft packing, Burst in a thru-hull water hose, a shore water connection with too much pressure may have burst (Happened to me once on a previous boat. I can assure that the boat was not driven away. It was submerged to the rub rails, which would require complete overall of the engines and electronic components in the engine room.I agree with you. I'm amazed they were able to drive on after refloating the boat. Sure would like to know the cause of their taking on water.
The last line of the article said it was towed from the restaurant's dock.I agree with you. I'm amazed they were able to drive on after refloating the boat. Sure would like to know the cause of their taking on water.
It's awful quiet out there!
Mike,Do any of you have a Sub-Zero refridge with a control like this picture? It is on the bottom front of the unit. I don't know how to rotate the picture below so it shows horizontal rather than vertical. As with many of the systems on the boat we bought in October, I do not have the owners manual or any other documentation so I am having a time trying to figure out how this works. I can't find a model number anywhere that I have looked so far, so I have been unable to find anything online. Help!
