48 Sundancer Washer/Dryer feedback

Does anyone elses washer/dryer sound like a diesel that lost a rod when its running? At times mine shakes so violently the dogs run for cover and the people at the dock think a grenade is going off.

Yes. Everytime my wife uses that thing while we are underway, I think something happened to an engine or the running gear because it vibrates the whole boat sometimes.

Okay guys my husband wants me to wiegh in! We purposely sold our 410 EC for our 460 DA because of the Splendie washer/dryer. The first thing I did was to read the manual which states "don't use while underway", describes the size of the loads, etc. We use our machine 2 to 3 times a day. Yes, they are small loads but once I set the wash cycle, and the dryer for 120 min. I walk away and don't have to return to the machine for approx. 2 hours. The clothes and/or towels are not in balls, and all I do is fold underwear, towels or put our kahakis and polos in my ironing pile. Everything we wear gets ironed (on board I have a small apartment stye iorning board, Rowenta iron and starch). Yes, at first we had some fustrations with the machine, but the Splendie service department has walked us through all of our service issues including replacement of the vacum pump, replacement of the disic like heating unit fuses (we carry spares... always make sure you stop your wash or dry-cycle prior to pulling the power cord). This is a high effeciancy unit that is capable to clean your clothing as good or if not better than your home machine. It is like anything else the more you use it the less problems you will have. Also, yearly remember to clean your intake water hook ups behind the machine, otherwise your machine will continue to fill with water. The Service Department has really nice guys and they will walk you through your issues on the phone and the red blinking light is a diagnostic tool that trouble shoots for you. Again, it's all in the manual.

This is from the "Admiral" - I told her it would be "cheaper" to keep the old boat and just throw all all dirty clothers away! - I lost that argument.

Let me get this straight....your admiral does all the washing, folding and ironing on the boat and she wanted a bigger boat just so she could do that for you and you had an 'argument' with her?!!!!!
