As I'm going through my boat one area at a time, I discovered I have the dreaded sanitation hose problem. Has anyone taken on the job of replacing this on their own? I don't intend on doing it but would like to be educated on what this entails. Also, the picture is the hose that runs alongside the port engine in the PVC. Does anyone know if this is the forward or aft head? Also, when replacing this does it make sense to trim down the PVC pipe a bit just so

the bend in the hose isn't as tight? Anyone have a step by step guide for replacement? I'm assuming the toilets get removed and the hoses come out through the toilet opening.

I was just quoted between 1,000 and 2,000 in labor to do the same thing. Have you proceeded or received any quotes?

I haven't yet but I think I'm going to do it myself as a winter project. I plan to remove the thruster batteries, the water heater and the vacuum pumps to make it easy. While I have the vacuum pumps out I'm going to rebuild them and probably replace the batteries. Once all of those things are out, it looks like it won't be that difficult and give me the opportunity to clean that whole are of the bilge. I came to this conclusion last week when replacing my exhaust hoses that this is the way to do it. On another note, replacing the exhaust hoses was a real B**ch. If you're going to pay someone to do a job, that's the one to pay for. I tried to find someone to do it and nobody wanted to. I realized why when I started the job.
