I noticed when I use my fresh water the gauge goes from full to 3/4 and then 1/2 very quickly without much use of water. Does anyone have noticed that on the 48?
Is my sender not working correctly?

Are you loosing any fresh water? Is there a way for you to get to the water tank and actually see the level (flashlight might help)?

This has been a problem that plagued me and still does today. I thought I had it figured out when we discovered that when the hot water heater was on we were losing some water via a leak in the pressure cap (may not be the right term, but I'm talking about the pop-off cap thing that is part of the water heater). You could see water dribbling out of the one of the side holes near the waterline. Had that fixed but the problem persists ... in my case it might also be because I upgraded the pump a year ago and we just use more water than we realize, but even so it seems to disappear faster than it should. One thing you should do is turn everything on (water pump, hot water heater, etc.) but don't run any water - lift up the salon floor and listen to your water pump to see if it's running from time to time. Unless you are actually using water or just turned the water off it shouldn't be running.

Good luck, let me/us know if you make any new discoveries!

I have the exact issue on my 410. No water leakes anywhere. Its my sending unit. Im going to replace it sometime soon.

I am pretty sure I am not loosing any water. I don't hear the pump cycling. I think it is the sender that is not calibrated correctly.

it may happen when plastic tank is used. over years plastic tank change shape and looks more like barrel than cube when filled with water and sender only measures water level not actual water usage.

We have a fresh water level switch on our breaker panel in our 400 DA and every level from empty to full remained lit all the time. Replaced sensor which has all color coded wires and every level still lights up when you press the switch. Suggestions?

I am not on my boat right but I believe the guage is connected to a momentary switch and you have to push and hold this switch to see the water level. I found this to be a strange set up. Does anyone know why the guage doesn't read 24/7? Does it pull too much juice? Just curious if anyone knows why the setup is this way. May have to something to do with the guage reading funny. Maybe if it was on all the time the calibration would be a little smoother. Just a guess.

That is normal. I had same issue on my 48DA, then realized through use that the float hangs from the top of the tank, and it does not reach the bottom, so as it may SEEM you are using water faster when the tank is full watch as you get below the 1/4 mark, thew gauge will read empty and you can run the faucets for an hour and pump 10 gals out. Check it out when you prepare to winterize the boat.

Prepare to do what? Head South for winter? I do this too. I empty the water tank for long cruises to extend my range.

I have a used sender I pulled out this summer. If you want it, PM me a mailing address.

I had a brain fart and got confused on the way the guage read so I unnecessarily replaced mine. It is not a float mechanism, but, an aluminum stick with some sensor bars on it.
