Where are these sumps you guys are adding the clear lids to located on the boat?

Thanks
Under the access hatch in the salon floor.
Its the grey water sump. Showers and most sinks as well as ac drain pans drain to the sump and then out the through hull

Got ya. My cruiser had same set up but in a not so friendly place to access.
Always done most of my own maintenance so I appreciate all these posts.

Here is what it looks like

That sure is a lot of money to spend on access to the sump. Why not install a hatch lid? It's easy to do and inexpensive. I installed this one (see pic) a few years back and have seen others with similar type of hatches, some smaller and some even round.
The hatch fit perfectly across so the edges lined up, I drilled holes in the hatch to line up with the bolt holes on the sump box and one extra on the plexiglass for the inside edge. The existing gasket worked perfect and I used silicone on the inside edge of the plexiglass.

Grant. Not sure how deep into the WiFi world you’re going but this Halo system works nicely for me.

Not too deep, works great at my dock and local marinas in the Keys, just adding the PepLink so I can have cell service WiFi in Bahamas via a data SIM card from Marine Data solutions. Need to have internet and email when I travel there and this looks like a great solution that many Yachts are using. Surprisingly cheap all this considered.

Aml327,
How does that pedestal work on your Sat dome? I have been thinking about raising mine as the arch and radar get in the way of mine especially at my dock.
How does the boat look with it raised on the side profile?

Sky Driver,
Welcome to the Club, hope you find your boat. Not sure what year you are looking for but most of these suffer the most from deferred maintenance issues from the PO's. The best advise I can give you is get an experienced Sea Ray surveyor and a good Cummins mechanic to inspect what you expect. These are great boats and we love them. As far as an options list, sorry never seen one. Once you look at a few you will know what you like. Where are you located? What years are you looking at to fit into your budget.

Side view for you. I never used the Saterlie tv. I replaced all TVs with HD Smarts. I was told I could not get a good picture. Waiting for some new technology. For now grab WiFi when I can.

Does that pedestal have a name or part number? I would like to get one and give it a try. Looks like it would do the trick and still keeps the lines of the boat good

I have an Intellian s6HD combined with HD TV's, and the picture quality and reception are great.

TNT, who’s your provider?
Grant, I’ll try to look tomorrow. I’m under Shrinkwrap. Been working on wiring engine cameras to my Garmin 8600. I’ll should be back there tomorrow. Got one up and running. Did not mount yet. Pic is just a test.probably more of a novelty item...

Direct TV

Mine is a Raymarine 45 and it still gets some Directv channels in HD from Sat 101. Works fine for me

What do you guys consider high time on these Cummins engines in the 48?

What are we looking at for a rebuild?

Average cost of 1000 HR service?

Thanks

What opinions do any of you have on Musk's StarLink? It's coming and he shows yachts in his advertising...
SpaceX is literally putting up thousands of Starlink satellites. They are pretty small; about the size of a washing machine. The plan is to provide seamless high speed communications across the globe within the cost point of current internet connections. SpaceX is in direct competition with OneWeb who are also launching many small satellites for the same purpose which is good to keep costs competitive. There are foreign entities that are beginning to do the same thing. This is a rendering of a typical bus with 60 Starlink spacecraft on it. So, I wouldn't get too carried away in spending a lot of money on Sat dishes and the like as there is an evolution coming that will enable seamless worldwide high speed data.
