I have the m232 installed 2 summers ago.

What are your thoughts? Is the resolution adequate? Any feedback would be great. I am concerned it doesn't give a clear enough image

I have a m232 on my 320. There are two different obejectives for thermal imagining. Detect or Indentify. The lower res cameras are designed to detect objects. The higher res allows you to identify objects and detail.
The 232 will detect a small boat at 1/2 mile. Its a white object on the screen. You can't identify how many people or fine detail. Bouys and crab pots at 1/4 mile or so.
Plenty of time to avoid.
They work fine for what they are. Not real useful at speed. Slow cruise they will improve your awareness. The newer 300 series are nice but start at more than double the price. On a vessel your size should definitly mate with radar. The 364c is the bomb but its 20k. They all mate best with Axiom displays.

Very cool but @ $20k that is nuts....

I don't think I am in the market for 20k but I would like the added safety coming back to the dock at night. The full glass windshield can provide some decent glare and in the humid months we can get condensation if it cools quickly at night. Both make for terrible visibility

I think the m232 would fill that need. The tilt and pan feature is desirable for larger boats.
Comparable in cost to a good radar. The clear cruise feature you get with the axiom displays makes a huge difference. It give visual, audible and distance right on the screen. I use it for returning back to home from dinner cruises. Works great for that.

First upgrade complete... Removed the old Perko lights on the hard top and replaced them with new Lumitech Orbit's 4 color LED's. Swapping out the fixtures was a piece of cake as the Orbit adabtors fit right in the 2" hole perfect. But when turning them on the Overhead light switch in my panel was connected to a dimmer module that while worked would not let me switch colors. So the fun began. Had to R&R the panel to find that switch just is a momentary rocker that controls an old dimmer module that I traced accross the helm all the way to the starboard edge. There are two dimmer modules there, I assume the other is for the dash lights. I have to say that in my years of working on cars, planes & boats I never understood why Sea Ray does not make "service loops" on it switch panels??? I unbolt the panel from underneath and the harness is so tight you can't even get it up and out to work on it...stupid. So that was a pain having to fight that with limited access to install a new toggle switch and over lay the harness with some decent gauge wire. I removed the old dimmer and wired in the lights directly to the switch. Looks great, and now I can see inside the cockpit at night with the red light option.

Today I have the master and rear stateroom AC units that go into "PS" mode after running for 15-20 minutes. I hooked up AC guages yesterday and found the high side pressure is going way up to over 450 psi. So first I am thinking water flow cooling issues on these units so i am going to r&r the water cooling hoses and verify flow as well as do a barnical buster flush on each unit. Hopefully that solves my issues on this project.

Any one dealt with this issue yet? Both portholes in my bathrooms and showers have rust and some of the tabs that hold it closed the screws have completely broken off. Cheap ass stainless hatch. I am hoping to clean it up and drill out and tap new screws??? Any one else ever deal with this and have a different solution?

WOW! I have definitely not seen anything like that... That had to be a major intrusion of (salt) water left unintended for a good period of time.

The window issue is pretty well known and documented. You’re on the right track though, drill out and retap. It’s just from spray accumulating over time and slowly corroding. My master head window had this issue.

Did the lights come with the mounting adapters? What model are the lights? Did you replace of the old rocker switch that had the dimmer action with an on/off rocker switch and then cut out the dimmer and wire the new rocker switch directly to the existing wire for the lights? It sounds like what you did so I'm just confirming. Thanks!

Lumitec Orbit lights (4 color) p/n 112520 with the Orbit adaptor p/n 101073. Yes replaced the dimmer/rocker switch with with a latching switch SPST that I grabbed at West marine, ran a pair of 16 gauge wire from the switch to the dimmer location since the 22 gauge wire that was there for the dimmer was to small to handle that current (orange, green white wires). Used the one of the existing wires to provide ground for the new switch LED. Did all the wiring at the old dimmer location as the ground bar and power are all there. Took about an hour to trace and wire every thing for the switch to work correctly. Each light to replace took 5 minutes, super simple. If you need help I can talk you through this over the phone it is that simple.

@ocgrant Thanks, OC, what's your name? lol. I love that you're into your boat! It's a great boat. Even when I look around to move up, I'm not sure what I would go to without having to drop 2x the price and not sure I'd get such a solid boat.

@ Jeffery my name is Grant and yes I love boating as it is a big part of our lives. Moving from Southern California to South Florida 7 years ago has made it even a bigger part. Since I travel all over the east coast all week it is nice to come home to Ft. Lauderdale for the weekends. I try to get at least one day on my boat every weekend. As my wife says "you have to spend a day with your girlfriend". Which is part of the reason for getting this boat as the wifey is more comfortable on this boat hanging out for the day or spending the night at the dock and dingying to the ICW to go find dinner. I am very ADHD and OCD and have to be doing something as she says. So boating has been great as there is always someting to work on or make better. I look forward to all the projects on this boat and getting her ready for the summer as I will be going to the Bahamas at least once a month.

Hey nice to met you Grant! Man we may have been separated at birth as my OCD/ADD is always in effect! lol..I'm in tech and Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing isn't enough for me so my boat gives me something to do that's unrelated to work. This is my 4th Sundancer and my first with Diesel's. I've had my 48 almost a year and have almost gone through the whole boat bringing it up to speed and taking care of all the big deferred maintenance. All the mechanics around here have no idea what they're doing so I figured hell, I dont know what I'm doing either but can figure it out. This forum and SeaBoard Marine have been lifesavers. Great to meet you!

LOL... Yes this boat is the same as it was a taxi on the ICW for the last 6 years and while it was never used but twice a month for the owner to take a ride to dinner all the maintenance was deferred but changing the oil. We bought her since she was unmolested and super clean but knowing that I will be dealing with a lot of little things that have not been excercised for a long time. Good news is for me is that I am in the yacht capital of the world and while there are a lot of flakes you have to sort through there are some great mechanics and yards so my resources are endless. Not to mention there is a million boat supply places here I can find anything I need pretty much same day. I am going to go ahead and have all the major maintenance done upfront by the pros here then I will take over doing it all myself at a managable pace moving forward. Since summer is right around the corner I want to get the major work done by the end of March so I can start shaking her down for longer runs to the Bahamas without issues. Which means lots of short trips around Miami and ovenights using all the systems on the boat to insure they all work and any modifications deemed necessary.
