So been a stressful few weeks. Doing impellers on the motors went to open the seacock and the handle breaks off in my hands. Valve only 1/4 open so can’t run motor. Chit….. Try to get a haul out around here right now…lol. Wifey had a Virgin cruise lines trip planned also so can’t mess that vacation up. Took 3 weeks to get in for a quick haul and repair. Decided since I am paying for a haul out I need to make it worth it. So new lights and drop fins were two things I wanted and I knew I could get them done in a day while they changed the valve. Then boat yard talked me into a new coat of prop speed. Back in the water today and back to the dock. Now I can get back to finishing engine maintenance and now wiring my new lights up. Oh and to top it off after traveling for work every week 2 1/2 years avoiding Covid I finally caught it in the middle of all this. Leaving on the first Bahamas Fling of the year June 16 so plenty of work to get caught up on to be ready.

    Thanks Dave,
For me the Prop Speed is a huge win on the protection of the running gear. It really slows growth around hear to the point of just wiping everyhting off with a glove vs a scraper. I started doing this 8 years ago on my last boat after diving it and having to spend an hour working on running gear to clean it after a month. As far as perfromance, I am sure ther are some gains due to it sliding through the water easier but to what extent no idea. What I am excited to find out is how these drop fins work out....

Interested to hear how your drop fins work. Mine work great, but since i'm out of the water for the winter I had them extended 3" also but don't know if that had anything to do with the performance.

Awful quiet here fellow 48’ers…. What’s going on don’t tell me I am the only one busting my ass this season. Got a little Tropical event this weekend slowing me down from doing some testing.

    Grant,
I'm thinking about installing a water witch float switch and one of those fancy lid/doors you came up with for the sump box.
Before I drop the coin on one thought I see if you where still happy with the one you install? Right now it takes as long to unbolt and re-bolt the lid that came with the boat as it does to clean the sump.

I love it.... so much easier to clean out the sump easily.

I have finally accomplished one of my OCD requirements, my bilge is dry 100%!

It falls on dead ears to most but I know you guys get it!
My last step was re-sealing the transom under the rub rail.
    VICTORY!

OMG that is exactly what I have been doing for the last two years. I have replaced or repaired everything else and now found leaks at the rudder plates. They are slow leaks but needs to be addressed. Making plans to haul and repair in the next couple of weeks. I hope to have a dry bulge once again.

    @JB MARSHALL
I have chased down ac drains leaking into the bilge, a leaking ac pump, a weeping drain and lastly one of the connections to my transom shower. Feels great to open the ER hatch and see dry

Couple of question about the new to me 07 I purchased (I did search a bit but couldn't find any info).

    1. There is an aux cable at the helm but it didn't work, FM/AM do, but nothing on Aux. I started pulling the clarion unit down below to check connections, etc., and now the remote amp doesn't power up (no FM/AM). I downloaded the manual and think the remote signal (blue wire) is damaged. Is the remote amp behind the TV?

    2. Any suggestions on steps to remove TV? I there are only a few sets of screws, I'll start there. We aren't really TV people, previous owner had direct TV activated on it, we may do that or I might just get the OTA system working (it's not).

Thanks in advance for any help!

FYI, bilge not dry but that's a bit lower on things to sort out!

Yes the amp is behind the TV. Yes the blue is the “amp turn on”. Screws on the panel that the TV is mounted to is the one that you need to remove. A long Phillips screwdriver is needed to get to them. Remove that and you have access to pretty much everything

I installed the water witch switch 10+ years ago and it's still going strong. The 8" screw hatch access to the sump box was maybe 6 years ago more and I'm kicking myself why I didn't years earlier...
