48 DA Owners Club

Hi, I just signed up and just got a 48. I was wondering if anyone has installed a bimini top from hardtop to stern and the best recommendations.
Thanks
Ric992 welcome to the fun. Tell us more about your new to you 48. Where do you boat? Pics....

Loving this new Siren Alarm my buddy gave me!!! Got most of my toys connected now and it works great. Love the piece of mind that I will get a text alert if there is an issue. Well worth it I must say. Super easy install and great customer service. Between my dock camera and this my boat is fully monitored.

YOU have been BUSY my friend! Well done!

Do we have a battery selector switch for our house batteries? And should the emergency start switch start both engines if one battery is low? Thank you.

Also...what size fuse goes in the Vetus bow thruster? Mine had a pink 5 amp but I think that might not be correct. Thanks again!

Ours is all electronic on the panel. Yes emergency will start both

Don’t know what you found but it is a 50 amp back by the thruster batteries

Welcome aboad then neighbor. Where do you keep it. I am in Ft Lauderdale off the New River. We do Miami, the Keys and Bahamas all the time. Hoping for the wind to lay down early this year and get to Bimin in May for an early season run. Heading to the Eluthera in July for 10 days.

Why do you want a full bimini in Miami, Sun Fly poles and a shade is all you need

The sun fly poles are definitely a good idea! The Eluthera trip will be amazing, I'm doing research now and hope to do the same. I've been dreaming of being able to do it for years

FYI...I checked with Vetus and it is a 5 AMP up on the thruster. Thanks.

Yes, there's a 5 AMP fuse in the bow thruster motor, and there's supposed to be a spare fuse under the relay cap.

Hi, I was thinking about replacing the flooring in the cabin, any suggestions? Mine has wood floor in galley and carpet throughout the rest. I am definitely on a budget after just purchasing the boat but think it would look so much better!

Hi all, 470DA owner crashing your thread as we have similar models. I have a transducer issue I can't figure out. For the last 8 years I have had depth readings via two displays: my Raymarine E120 and through my Vesselview. E120 only gives me depth and the Vesselview gives me depth and water temp. I always assumed they were reading from the same transducer but then late last year the readings stopped showing up on my Vesselview. I just get --- for depth and --- for water temp, but the depth continues to show up on my E120. While I'm thankful for that, I do miss the sea water temp reading I used to get through Vesselview and I prefer to look at that screen for depth as well. I can only find one Airmar transducer in the bilge and when I unplug that (from down in the bilge), the E120 reading goes dead, and comes back on when I re-plug it back in. So I know for a fact that Airmar is working, and that it is sending to the E120. With all that background, why is my Vesselview not working? Do I have a 2nd transducer somewhere on the boat that went bad? Or is it the same transducer? If the same, how could it be dead on one display and active on another. It can't be that a plug fell out of the back of my Vesselview because there only ever was one plug coming from the Airmar. Unless it is t'd off beyond my vision. But I would expect it wouldn't be a t-splice, but an NMEA 2000 connection.

Any ideas?

Is it all original? If it is, i think your transducer is NMEA 0183, not N2k.

On 48's the one that feeds the VV is in the front part of the rear bilge betweek the sea cocks for the AC pumps. It is an Airmar Nema0183. Mine is depth only no temp feed but it is still working. My buddies took a crap but it was easy to replace in water.

- a/c line clean out manifold under new diamond plate step (old battery shelf).

- Repositioned the big D-batteries so they're stacked instead of side by side to accommodate hinging the shelf to access new manifold easier. The lower battery is on an rv sliding tray.

- Raised the helm seats 3" to improve the sightline while cruising.

Damn that looks good!

Original. Either way though 2000 or 0183, why do you think the VV stopped displaying?
They just go bad... Find it identify it and replace it.
