I have finalized my decision in regards to my next boat and it will be a 460DA. I have looked at several and I will be looking at another one this weekend. I was wondering if anyone has access to what these boats in the 01 - 03 year range are selling for in the last 90 to 120 days. Thanks in advance for your help.

Right. It has no bridge. Safer for those who might fall from the helm station.

The 460DA is a nice choice. I like it too, except that I'm not overly fond of the 6CTA.

Yeah gas is awesome! GAS BURNERS UNITE!!!!

....until I can get diesels.

Damn Gary, I guess it is back to the drawing board now!!

Frank, I agree there are engines I like better but the layout of the boat suites our cruising needs perfectly. It definitely beats the hell out of my 7.4's pushing 20,000 lbs of boat.

No doubt about that.

6CTAs, if properly maintained, are reliable, economical engines. I have 600 trouble free hours on mine over five seasons, with an average fuel burn each season of ~22 GPH; I don't have smartcraft, so this # is based on gallons to fill divided by hours of use.
I've never run a 460DA with 6CTAs, but these motors are perfectly matched to my lighter, smaller 420DA....so--go run a 460DA, with hardtop and lift if that is your preference, loaded up as you'll use the boat, and see if the 6CTAs are adequate for your purposes.
As to selling prices, condition, survey results, documented maintenance history, etc. are crucial variables in a used boat. In general terms I'd guess you can find a keeper in the 190-210K range, or lower if a distressed/short sale. Sold boats data will inform your offer price.

6CTA's are a good match to the 460DA. ITs a solid 24-25 kt boat that handles well around the dock. THe only handling anomally doesn't have anything to do with the engines.

I do realize that price is important, but when you are shopping for a 10 year old boat, condition means everything and can mean as much as a 40-50% swing in pricing. Location is also critical........there are no clean used boats in this area, so a clean 460DA will bring a premium here; perhaps not in other markets.

I will also caution shopping just price. You must also note options and equipment. When the 46 was first introduced, the hardtop, bow thruster and hydraulic platform made the price of the 460DA right at 2X the price of the boat it replaced, the 450DA. No dealer would order one, so the hardtop, platform and thruster became options and took about $150K out of the price. The soft top boats are still significantly cheaper, so be sure you know what you are pricing.

I run 2 of them.....an '01 and an '02 regularly. One has everything but the kitchen sink on it, the other is nicely equipped, both are hardtop, have platforms and thrusters. With the PWC & RIB in the barn, the loaded boat runs 23 kts at cruise the other one runs 24 -25.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Carver 370, thanks for the pricing info. That is very helpful.

Frank, I agree about shopping only on price. I was more interested in the selling prices to assist in negotiations once I find the boat I want. The boat i am seeing on Monday is a 2002 with a hardtop and the mechanical diesels. I have decided I would rather have the mechanical diesels instead of dealing with the semi-electronic for the small horsepower gain. The engines have about 1000 hours on them. It looks very clean and is nicely optioned less a hydraulic swim platform. I will know more after Monday morning.

Hope its a clean one.......that configuration...i.e. mechanical diesels, and no platform....would make it a perfect fit for me..............if I didn't already have a better boat!

We will know Monday morning. The other nice part of this deal is that they are willing to talk about taking my boat on trade so that would be nice to not have to sell it out right. But first things first, the boat has to be the right boat. I will post when we get back.

Marine Max had a 2000 460DA at the Atlantic City show this weekend. She was listed at $209k and had a sold sign on her. Fully equipped with hardtop and cockpit A/C. She had a third party "Freedom lift" on the transom. Looked like a factory bow thruster install. Original electronics, which looked okay too. Had two G4s on the hard top, but original TVs. I thought that strange, but what the heck?

Very nice fiberglass, some very tiny tears in the cockpit vinyl. The interior was excellent except for the carpeting, which needed to be replaced IMHO. Overall, not a bad boat. Might make an offer if the deal falls through.

We also say a 2008 44DA that was in showroom condition. Perfect interior, exterior, cockpit etc. Hardtop, bow thruster, stern thruster, M1 dish, stainless steel anchor, dual E120s, FLIR, stern view color cam, EPIRB on hardtop, some other things I can't remember. One of the sales guys mentioned some kind of "special performance" props. I think he said "veem" and that they were very expensive. Whatever. Overall a very very nice boat. Couldn't make the deal work though. Oh well.

I didn't like the new models as much. The new 450DA is one unattractive boat.
