Sea Deck looks nice! Where is your boat? Do you really have a garage big enough for this boat? I think I might have garage envy ;). Anyway thanks for the comment on the steps, I have Corinthian marine cockpit vinyl coming next week so I'll post pics of that once it's done as well.

Graham: they were able to get the tie bar out without removing the generator platform? I am in a similar situation with that so I would love to have any details you can provide.

Thanks and YES, I have a storage condo big enough for this baby...22'x58' with an 18'x22' garage door. My buddy and I got tired of the lack of private storage condos in our area so we built 17 units like this last year. All steel, insulated with WF-FI, heat, water, floor drains etc . Its my MAN CAVE..:) We live and boat in Northern Michigan, so we have about 7-1/2 months of winter layup. Allows us a tremendous amount of time to tinker and clean. I did a lot of wet sanding this winter with 3000 and 5000 grit Trizac..WOW, what a shine!! Cant wait to launch it is the sweetest looking boat I have ever had. Now, I just hope the First Mate doesn't slip off the foredeck the first time she walks up there...pretty slick.

I have a Facebook page f0r the storage site...Anchors Away Storage...You can check it out if you'd like.

New maintenance item I need to get done....Has anyone replaced the power vent weather strip?
If yes, any tips and tricks?
Also, Taylor Made part number for new seal?

Thanks!

Yes they removed the old tie bar by unbolting it, sliding it fully to the Port side still behind the Genset, and then sliding it out under the Genset. But take note, I do not have a Transformer mounted in the middle of the boat forward of the Genset, (I removed it, long story) so that may make access a different story on your boat.

I was not watching closely, but it only took and hour so can't have been the most difficult job, and for sure the Genset was not moved.

Thanks Graham. I looked at mine last night so I think I can do it myself.

Re the power vent strip...as limited as I am with diy skills, this is one I decided to tackle.
Very straightforward...unscrewed power ram from vent to rotate vent back against windshield..cleaned out dried old stuff from vent tracks, installed new gasket with a kitchen knife to tuck into grooves, using a minimum of adhesive.
Installed on a sunny warm day so new gasket was flexible for fitting. On a scale of 1-10 difficulty....1.
Part # would be different for your boat, but it fit perfectly.
Have fun!

It looks like the problem is in the Moto Tron Module itself. Anyone have any sources for folks that trouble shoot/perform diagnostics/repair on that module ? Or as a worst case .........who can replace it ?

Back to the drawing board. The Moto Tron ECM (Port side) is definitely bad. I've had no luck finding a replacement (Sea Ray, Cummins, Mercury, etc). Does anyone know of any replacement/upgrade options ? Or anybody that repairs these devices ?

It took a few calls but I finally found it. The Taylor Made part # is 835043 and is the center vent gasket. This little suck is expensive...$207.10 plus $25.00 handling fee AND shipping!
I can email this to anyone if they want it for their files...just message me.

I ended up ordering it form my local Sea Ray dealer and he only charged $149.00!!

Do any of you guys happen to know the Cruisair air filter number for the '99 model? Best place to order from? Thanks

Oh yea, is this salon couch bolted down?

Depends on the pump. Do you have the March pump? Many of them are rebuildable. Look it up by the model number.

As far as the filters, they are really just cheap filters like is used in the over the range hoods, I get mine at Home Depot and cut them to size with snips, maybe others have a better idea.

I finally got the mats from Corinthian Marine installed. It's dark outside but I snapped a few pictures.

I am honestly impressed with this flooring, it's quality stuff for sure.

In all fairness, making the template was a PITA big time and it took them a month to make it but both the wife and I are very satisfied.

Notice the lack of snaps, it is velcro!

That looks great, Now that you did the templates I may have to give them a call.

Corinthian is online. They are located in Oregon. As far as the template goes I'm not confident you could just use mine because each boat is slightly different. All's Well brought me his carpet and it didn't even fit my boat.

Here are a few learnings from my experience.

1. Template material: I used clear vinyl from wall mart sewing department. I tried the cheap drop clothes from Home Depot first but it moves too much and you can't see through it.

2. The instructions say to leave a gap around everything. I think you will see I didn't do that, so it took quite awhile to make it perfect. We also only cut 3 sides for the engine room hatch and the hatch in the step. My neighbor had done this on his and it turned out great.

3 I upgraded the binding to sunbrella toast. I like the thought of sunbrella and I flip flopped on what color. I do like the toast but black would have given it more definition.

3. Quint4 on here is a dealer for luxury woven vinyl and it is a similar product. In hindsight I would have given him a shot but I didn't know this and I like to support the forum members.

4. I was hesitant to go with the Velcro system instead of the snaps but I'm so glad I did. I put extra Velcro everywhere and even though the cost a buck each I would have put even more if I did it again. It really gives it a premium look and feel without the snaps, but filling all those snap holes with epoxy was a job.

NotHerDecision...that is a BEAUTIFUL job and great fit with the templates! Although I just added SeaDek to my platform, that may be a great alternative to the interior floor in that it looks almost exactly the same. Great stuff!

Another question, do you have cockpit AC? I noticed the hatch under the helm seat is vented, I was guessing it might be for the AC unit air intake? If so, I would like to get some details on the system you have and the installation of it.

Thanks
Bill

Thanks! I did make one mistake and behind the helm seat is 1/2" too big so it won't sit flat. I wrapped it up and shipped that piece back to them today and they are making the correction. Not sure who's fault it is but if that's the only issue then I'll take it.

I think it would look good with the sea deck for sure. I am torn, I'm actually thinking of using real teak on the platform but I have all summer to play and figure it out this winter.

I do have cockpit AC. It's a 16000btu unit and has 2 vents. 1 large one where you probably have a cooler behind the helm seat and another small one on my dash pointing at me which is the most important. Let me know if you need more pics and I'll send whatever is helpful.

Originally I didn't care if I had cockpit AC but it's paid off in a couple of ways. 1. It works awesome when the canvas is up and you are docked. 2. It actually allows another berth on the rear sunpad 3. It is AWESOME on the hot muggy days just having it blow cool air on you when you're at the helm.

I can't remember what thread I found this upgrade on but I really liked it so I upgraded on my vessel. It took a whopping 10 minutes in total to replace all the original dimmed bulbs and upgrade to LED. If anyone is interested here are the bulb links:

The original bulbs were so bad that I was unable to read the gauges at night. The new LED bulbs are also dimmable in case it is too bright for your driving comfort.
