460 DA Owners Thread

Hi Everyone. Upon close inspection, it looks like one of the clamps (see attached picture with circle on it) is close to breaking and I want to fix it before the season starts. Where can I buy one or two of these clamps?

Also, the pipe that connects up to my turbo is discolored. Can I buy a new one and if so, where?

Thanks everyone!
-Tim
Hey Tim!

Seaboard Marine is where I get my hoses and parts. Good guys...

If that pipe from the after cooler to the turbo is discolored, you have been running hot, Hot, HOT with your intake air.

Have you cleaned your after coolers yet? You may have a plugged up cooler which would explain higher running temp too... They get debris in the passages (sometimes impeller bits, ask me how I know...) and slow all of your raw water flow down

How are you able to use a water heater with a draw of 34A?

It's actually a 6.5kw... apologies

My 10 year old daughter went over the top of the fridge to feed the heavier wire, and we put in a bigger breaker. You want to change the shower heads to "low flow" and obviously don't do dishes while the Admiral is in the shower.

when you are at the dock in the summer, the whole crew can shower back to back to back..When the dock water or tank water is cold, it's not as beneficial.

OK, We are seriously considering adding an inverter. Hmmm where to put the additional batteries... Where to mount the inverter? I'd love to see where those of you that have an inverter placed these things. We've lost some space to the hydraulic lift innards.

Thank you!

I have replaced the 8d’s with 4 200ah Victron telecom batteries so depending on how much you want to invert that may be enough and won’t take much more space then what you have. With some work you can mount the inverter/charger on the bulkhead.

I replaced that hose & clamp a while ago. The boat was over propped and likely this year the coolers will come off to be cleaned. According to service records, they were pulled, cleaned, serviced 2.5 seasons ago.

Our inverter is in the compartment under the starboard back corner seat and then the bank of batteries are in ER back starboard corner.
The owner before us did it this way. I want to move the inverter to the ER however just haven't come up with a good place for it.

I am trying to use this adapter to get some power to the boat while in storage. Does anyone have an idea why I’m not getting any power. The outlet is live.
https://www.marinco.com/en/p/150SPP/Pigtail-Adapter-15A-125V-Male-To-50A

That adapter only powers one leg. If you have a 220v GFCI breaker and or a CLI Breaker, what your trying to do will not work. It needs to be a balanced input.

From the overview page - "15A 125V output, for use only with 120V devices"

Hey guys - hoping someone can assist. I noticed today a 60amp fuse beside the gen battery (screwed onto the timber generator platform) and it's got a cable broken / disconnected. It comes from the gen battery + terminal and the other end goes into the loom heading to the back of the gen. Everything seems to be working ok but I have never noticed this in the past. (please see image). Thanks

It is one of 2 things. Breaker for power to the generator, which if the unit is starting then that’s probably not it. Or it’s the breaker from the battery charger to the generator starting battery.

Thanks for that - looking through some older photos from when I purchased the boat in Feb, I cannot see that it has ever been connected.

I think it was to provide power to hydraulic platform.
Hi Doozie - I will double check the platform when I am up there today. I know our platform runs via the engine batteries as it requires the solenoids to be on for it to operate. I wouldn't have thought it would run from the gen battery.
Thanks

Had the boat out for some normal maintenance. When the guys were trying to get the bow thruster zinc off, they said they could not get the "PIN" off and didn't want to break it. Have any of you run into issues with the pin and getting if off? I thought they could use some easy off or some heat to it. Thoughts?

Anyone?

Anyone attempted to try to level the surface between the area for the MFD and the area below it where I have a VHF? I’m upgrading to new Garmin electronics. I’d love to squeeze in two new 12” MFD displays. Thought about a piece of star board to raise the area up. And then a new wood grain panel on top of that to make it look clean. Thoughts?
