460 DA Owners Thread

I finally was able to get my bow thruster installed! Joe from East Coast Bow Thrusters did an amazing job and he and his crew were very professional. I can highly recoomend his team for anyone that wants to add a thruster.

I did some modifying over the winter before he arrived. I didn't (er, the Admiral didn't) want to lose any of that valuable floor storage space so I cut the 3/4" partition wall between the 2 lockers and built a flat surface out of marine grade plywood for the 2 batteries to be mounted to. I used 3 coats of West Systems 105 to seal the raw wood edges. I then added a little more lighting in the compartment and gave the E.C.B.T. team a nice place to install the charger and batteries. I will add the finished interior pictures with the thruster and batteries tomorrow.

I wish I could have gotten a picture of the freshly cut 7-1/4" hole, but I was launching other boats when it was being drilled.

Thank you

Short answer = NO
Proper diagnosis with the correct tool/computer and a good DVOM is 85% of the job. Any one can throw parts at it and cost you a lot of money unnecessarily. Also, codes don't tell you what is wrong, or what part is bad, they only tell you what page of the book to open up to and the pinpoint test to perform.
That and having the ability to read and correctly interpret live data readings are imperative for a complete and comprehensive diagnosis!

Thank you. I figured there was no easy solution- is there some tool that we can purchase ourselves to diagnose? In the car world you can get OBD II and check engine codes, clear faults etc. anything like that for us?

A quick search for Cummins diagnostic scanner showed tons of them but I couldn't make a recommendation.

Good Afternoon!
I am replacing the black rubber strip in the windshield frame this weekend and was wondering
if there was any helpful advice or tricks I might need to know. Thanks so much for all the great

It’s pretty easy. A plastic pry tool is a plus. The piece under the vent window is a different part than the curved and sides just FYI.

While you have it out and cleaning the track, it’s a good opportunity to Re-bed the screws.

Remove screw cover foam, re-do every other screw, and then repeat till finished. I used black 4200 for re-bedding. As I'm sure you can see the old foam shrunk, so I cut my new stuff a little longer and scrunched it into the slot.

It's pretty scary when they make that HUGE hole in a perfectly good boat...

Wolf, you have posted a number of comments on removing the refrigerator and washer/dryer. My dryer vent is clogged. I have removed the aft sofa. Do I need to remove the refrigerator to get to the clamps holding the washer/dryer to get it out.?

That’s

That’s how I accessed it. You will also need to remove the water lines and drain lines if you are pulling it all the way out.

If you are just unclogging the vent, you can access it behind the fridge as well. With that, there is no need to remove the mid berth sofa.
Hope that helps.

Hi folks. Out on the hook for a while and noticed my Norcold DE0061 has a strong odor (does not smell like ammonia).

Is there a filter somewhere I should be changing or cleaning?

thanks in advance!
